I am not sold on Wlad just yet....He has yet to show that true rugged grit that is synonmous with a Heavyweight Champ...Wlad to me has to show he isint going to get spooked when he gets buzzed by a punch and he can dig in there and war...The fight with Byrd showed nothing an we all knew what the outcome would be since Byrd dosent pack much of a punch...

Sadly enough The likeleness of Vitali coming back is slim to none seeing he has the back and knee issues but it was nice to see some clarity after Lennox Lewis, even though it was only a short time..

    What are your thoughts
Vitali had two defenses against Sanders and Williams not the top tier(of even the non top tier) of Heavyweights. Brewster, Ruiz and Byrd imo fought better opponents then Vitali did on his "run"

well of course vitali would beat him now isnt he 41 and hasnt boxed since like 2003 or 2002 lewis in his prime and at his fittest would deal with vitali im pretty sure of that

I think it was just one of those matchups where no matter when in his career Vitali would have given Lewis trouble just due to his style...I can't see ANYONE EVER having an easy time coping with that style...it's like Vitali had the best of both worlds, Old School lean back style and New benefits of healthcare (which makes people bigger now than they used to be), weight training, surgery techniques, and so on.

Vitali gives ANYONE a hard time including Prime Ali and Prime Tyson....no disrespect, I wouldn't say he wins vs everyone but he gives them trouble

i was impressed with vitali vs lewis but he had no defence he kept his lands very low and and prime ali i dont think would have real problems like lewis did lets just put it this way prolly lewis worse night and vitali had his best one and he didnt win that should tell u something prime tyson could have trouble though because he is alot taller than tyson and tyson struggled against bigger boys but vitali wouldnt be able to keep his hands low against tyson like he did vs lewis otherwise he will find himself on the seat of his pants

I think he would...yeah his defense was like Ali's...just leaning backwards BUT he was 6'8 therefore it was tougher for people to hit him clean on the jaw.

His punches also held people back off of him

Byrd was indeed behind & in trouble...that's a really good fight IWO.

Byrd was causing issues after about the 3rd round...I can't recall if Vitali was already hurt then or not.

You should watch that fight though. Byrd nails him on the shoulder several times during the bout...& you can literally see Vitali cringe up.

Crying shame that he quit...but as old as the topic is...I aint him & he aint me...can't imagine what it would feel like fighting through an injury as damaging as that one would have been.

Vit vs Wlad "would" have been great. Id say Wlad wins if he dosent get caught.
O and Wack? You going to have a 19000 post party thread or what?
