I am not taking anything away from Davis but this is the most talented , busy fighter he is meeting to date. Even Davis wins, there's a chance that he will have a hard time because Leo enjoys boxing, it is not just a job to him.`

Boxer Gervonta Davis says he’s ‘Okay with getting sick with COVID’ to please his fans
Gervonta Davis is set to fight Leo Santa Cruz on Halloween
While most athletes are doing their best to avoid getting the coronavirus, boxing superstar Gervonta Davis has recently confessed that he has no fears about contracting the virus while fighting in front of a live audience on Halloween.
Recently, Davis told TMZ Sports that he’s looking forward to the upcoming match on October 31, when he will square off with Mexican warrior Leo Santa Cruz. And despite the current pandemic, he also says he refuses to live in fear of COVID-19 while doing what he loves.
“I’m just only speaking for me as a fighter – I’m okay with getting sick to please the fans,” Davis said.
“If I got sick and I find out that night, I’d be okay with it just knowing that I put on a great show. I did it in front of the fans. I did it for a cause. If I gotta take that hit, then you know I’ll quarantine by myself, and I did something great for the sport and things like that. I’m not saying I want that to happen but if that was to happen, I’m okay with taking that lick on the chin. Take that 14 days and stay healthy.”
Davis’ promoter Floyd Mayweather has been trying to put together a fight between him and Ryan Garcia for years. Yet, despite interest from both fighters, it has yet to happen. When asked if he was still open to a possible matchup with Garcia if he gets through Santa Cruz, the 25-year-old said he’s completely open to it.
“Me and Ryan could definitely happen next if both parties get on the same page and make the fight happen.”

Davis again showing another example of not being the brightest bulb on the string of lights. Better worry more about an impressive showing against Santa Cruz to impressive fans rather than 'taking covid licks on the chin'
