Madrimov KO Walker fiasco

Didn't see it but found the replay. Ref def blew it and makes no sense whatsoever to not utilize instant replay for cases like this or have a commission with some balls and responsibility step up and overrule the ref. The arena was empty, everyone saw it and sat by letting it continue. Gary Ritters 1st ref assignment in 6 months too and going by the website commission hasn't had announced meeting since January.

Don't think a replay would have helped, the ref realized pretty quick he'd buggered up and just ran with it. He told the guys he knocked him out but then he hit him with his shoulder... And if he hadn't hit with his shoulder it would have been a KO :S... He then suggested the fight go to the scorecards if walker couldn't continue... All good ideas for someone who was just kod.

Amazing bungling by the ref and all because he wouldn't admit he was wrong, walker looked totally buggered in the last round too, that'll have done some damage to him

Dang if that's the case he needs to be canned or suspended right off. There's no secondary to being KO'd, shoulder, karate kick etc afterwards. Makes no sense. Once a fighter is deemed knocked out by a legal shot that's a wrap. I think the commission is equally at fault and reading their criteria and rules for appointed officials leaves much to be desired. They only require CE or training refresh once every 3 years ffs. A refs record per fight should follow them just as any fighter, highlights and lowlights and outright incompetence. This is the outline the State athletic commission provides...

That is just screwy as all hell to put in a policy memorandum. Makes you really think about what is going under the radar

2 hr 39 mins and around 49secs into the Canadian dazn broadcast(I assume it's the same broadcast in America, and assuming you have access to dazn) the ref starts his ramblings :S... It can be heard very clearly... The ref really buggered this one, walker had no idea what was happening.... Really bad
