Somehow we skimmed over one sign of being older especially in the home where a self appointed chief occupant( she's wearing a dress) talks louder while you are making an important decision for others others living with you(the dependents). They take care of us the breadwinner because when it comes to spending and providing comfort they know the home front best because we the breadwinners aren't around as much. My aching back and frayed nerves, that check that makes its way to your comfort and the groaning of the delivery man(the head of the family) whose hero is a guy named Al Bundy? On our day off the biggest question is, will I go on remembering what this house looks like in the daytime when I am arriving later every month from work?

You know you're getting/gotten old when you remember music videos of the future would constantly switch screen, sometimes almost 10 seconds a part.


Then today's era U hear a song, you'd like to catch the video for and see every scene flip 1-2 seconds and think to yourself: Wow this is one Attention deficit generation that needs to flip scenes every 2 seconds, let alone to watch one scene? for a FULL 10 seconds?! Today's music ears turn away from a video if it doesnt flip every nanosecond LOL!




I literally turn away from videos today- IF I know it is a song I like because I will get damn near a headache watching camera angles change every friggin couple of seconds damn!!!

This was a radical video in that scenes would change rather quickly, yet every camera focused on musicians singing, playing. Not turning into a tv show, drama- just do the damn song man!! LOL!



Even rap music had musicians in their video!! Today most rap, hiphop won't even entertain the thought of a drummer being shown kicking double bass--today its all about filming in a prison setting or a pool party, but no musical instruments seem to be allowed in today's version of hiphop

Arthritis.

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Both are chronic long term conditions but there are nearly a hundred kinds of arthritis and many will have suffered from a form of arthritis at some point in life.

My hands have hurt since childhood but it has gradually spread everywhere and its a bastard now when the wet weather sets in. I try and help by keeping very active and watching my diet but there is only so much you can do.

Getting old is not like it used to be though, I don't think that really starts until your 70s nowadays if you are lucky. I swear when I was younger some people seemed to get old before retirement and were wearing slippers and cardies in their 40s and gave up at 55 like crusty limpets set in their ways.

Keep active, exercise regularly, eat well and cod liver oil tablets. You will live to be 100.

Resistance to change?

I am not sure, but exactly when in the UK did people start referring to Secondary (or Comprehensive) Education as 'High School' and when did the end of year Disco suddenly become 'The Prom'?

Both are a bit worrying as very clear American imports but especially The Prom. That is an American Movie thing and the saddest thing about it is kids now not only buy the big outfits, they travel in a fecking limo? Really? What was wrong about walking in your brothers hand me down band Japan T-Shirt or getting dropped off by your parents in their Morris Marina with your mum gobbing on her hanky and rubbing the eyeliner off your face reminding you that Adam Ant is a homosexual abomination and if you are caught smoking dog ends you will have to eat some to prove how gross they are?

For all talent shows, 'Britain's got talent, Americas got talent' etc and maybe because of them you don't get to see the kind of talent that doesn't happen without learning on the job, what Roy Castle RIP would have called dedication
