Herring scores KD in 3rd. Big headbutt leaves cut on Herring in 5th ref calls intentional but no points? Herring in control. Oquendo choppy sloppy Herring possibly making it harder than need but ref gave him a door 'if you can't see than fight over' and Herring carried on with it now in 6th.

Oquendo makes Angulo look refined and smooth. For a smaller dude he's sapping some of Herrings zest. Not winning at all but the physicality. Lot's of talk about Herring v Frampton and sharp punching wise I gotta lean Frampton. Herring hits Oquendo square in the balls and both get some time..

Fight stopped in corner of Herring claiming he cannot see. That was an odd set of circumstances, ref and Dr way over politicking this call. If a Doctor rules a fighter cannot see..it's the Doctor who makes the call. This scenario smells bad...now they're ruling it was the intentional headbutt that gets him DQ'd

You dq at point of infraction, not some result of . Haven't seen this before off the top of my head

I'm confused. And to think Weeks didn't even take a point at foul rounds ago. Leaves much room for a guy to work and manipulate a non call.

Goes in the book a Herring winner via DQ. In a fight where no points were ever docked. This is why following boxing makes a guy drink

There was a point deduction for the head butt

Was there the my mistake missed that, real screwy ending. Taking a point is penalizing the infraction. Like tagging a guy with a get out of jail free card to again use it later should things start going against him.

This was such a strange ending. I don’t really like the call. The reason is because it allowed Herring a way out whenever he wanted it. Basically Oquendo did an intentional head butt but they didn’t stop the fight there. Herring started wearing down a few rounds later and then claimed he couldn’t see.

Basically it was a no win situation after the head butt. Let’s say that Oquendo was about to stop Herring and then Herring said he couldn’t see. The fight would just be stopped and Herring would win by a DQ? There needs to be a better way.
