The size/weight difference was a definite factor. Teo was visibly much bigger stronger, which everyone knew beforehand, hence the one and done fight at this weight. He'll be at 147 within a year or two. And 135 was Loma's stated limit, with the move down the only option. NONE of which detracts from Teo's victory over a great fighter.

Loma didn't wait till the second half to fight he was stopped from starting by a highly skilled, stronger, fresher man. Had Loma started like he finished Teo may have knocked him out. That's why boxers have gameplans, trainers, teams, study oponnents and are matched against specific styles.

The notion that the other 135 young guns wash Loma now is ridiculous. You got clowns like Shakur and Haney saying "told ya Loma was a hypejob." Morons. Complete morons.

The way Loma stepped up in the later rounds was impressive. The 12 round though, the young guy really dug deep.

Loma looked nothing like the guy who many had announced prior to the fight was the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

There were no signs of the explosiveness he is known for, and his quickness seemed substandard. He was reacting to Lopez instead of making Lopez react to him.

    Size, clearly, was a factor.

Floyd is on different level from Loma.
Pac is on a different level from Loma.

Yes, but then Floyd had 17 fights before his first title fight. Apples and Oranges really.

    Beanz,

We are not going to compare Lomachenko to Floyd are we?

An old past it, 36 year old Floyd Mayweather beat a young champion in Canelo with ease!

You need to concede that your boy Lomachenko was beaten in his PRIME!

How did you score the fight?

    Styles make fights.

Might find that Haney destroys Lopez in 8.

Then Tank destroys Haney in 4.

    Interesting times ahead!!!

    Lomachenko clearly won rounds 9,10,11.

    8 is close.
    2 is Lopez.

Lopez made Loma look quite easy and Lomachenko canโ€™t fight going backwards
