Of course there is that huge Middle ground..... Between lying straight to someone's face and saying what, 17 DIFFERENT times they will "circle back to you"..... That huge Middle ground where even without having an answer you could refrain from both lying and repeating "circle back to you" so many times that it erodes your authority. Not to mention vocabulary wise, for someone with the very high office of White House spokesperson, I mean imagine how many candidates were interviewed and tested out for the job.....

Fucking hell, even totally unprepared and without an answer, yeah, don't just out and out lie, but put a little effort into it.

I mean hell here's a few gems she could try instead:


Q. "So is the Biden administration going to take a hard line stance on Turkey from this point forward?"

A. "I'm going to research the answer to that question in great detail after this press conference, and in our next meeting I will have a very clear answer for you on that."

Or.....

A. "That's an excellent question which requires an extreme amount of detail. Some of those details may be classified information or sensitive in other ways. I promise in our next press conference I will give you the best answer I can on that after consulting with the president's team."

Yeah... the "circle back to ya" line is going to wear out real fast. I don't care WHICH President they work for. If they're not adequately prepared for the questions on what are in fact main topics... they need some gentle encouragement to do better, or some alternative career guidance.
