I really expect FLoyd to put on a clinic and win easily.

Or else outpoint him for six or seven rounds on his way to a win and then be taken out by a kidney punch from which he cannot stand up in time to beat the count.

Boxing doesn't need a man with no respect for anyone including ODLH. Calling out people who have done so much for this sport while jumping around weights is crap. No character and may God have mercy on his soul.

You're right. I just hate this time change and it makes me an angry person. So I get up and decide to take my anger out on someone that is an easy target....

he will not beat Mayweather. If he does then Mayweather had a big breakdown somehow. if Baldomir were to win that would be the loss of Mayweather, but not really the emergence of Baldomir. The story would be Mayweather loses.

How would this not be the emergenge of Baldomir? If (I understand the long shot aspect here believe me)
he somehow wins, that would put him at 3 wins for 2006 beating Judah, Gatti and Mayweather. He would be the
WBC, IBO and IBA welterweight champion of the world and he beat a prime PBF rated as the number 1 p4p on many peoples lists. If he does that, I would have to say he is the fighter of the year. That would even outshine Hatton's spectacular 2005 IMO.

regarding the emergence of Baldomir ... it's all relative. Certainly Tata would emerge to center stage in the current boxing scene; he's almost done that now.

But he will never have the possibility (at least, he probably doesn't have the possibility) - which Floyd certainly has (the possibility, mind you, at least probably) - of emerging to center stage of boxing history in general.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are talking about. Are you talking about all-time great type thing?

yeah ... Floyd has the possibility of all time greatness. Baldomir has the possibility of being the man to beat for a few months or so, even if he beats Floyd.

Basically, if he beats Floyd it will be amazing, and he'll get lots of praise and recognition, but it won't make him an all time great.

If Floyd beats him, good for Floyd, but he needs to beat a few others before he convinces of his all-time greatness.

I think my man wins it...but I just don't think that it'll be easy...if he does breeze through this one...I'll be impressed. I mean...let's face it...excuse or no excuse...Baldo really REALLY took it to both Gatti & Judah & he did it with relative ease & determination.

Sorry Wacko, I didn't read your RBR before I questioned your backtracking.

Tentative first round, Tata ups the pressure in 2 and 3 but Floyd is evasive, and then Floyd starts picking him apart.

It's true that he beat Gatti and Judah, but I don't think that tells us much about what he will do against Floyd except that he will be determined and that Floyd must take care not to get caught.

Floyd will take care and he won't get caught, and even if he does, he is not a Judah to crumble unless he is caught in such a way to be really incapacitated. That is always possible - we know that - but it would be unexpected.

As far as Gatti ... well, I like Gatti more than you do, which isn't hard, but still can't credit Baldomir's win as a signal that he is dangerous to Floyd. Floyd beat Gatti too ... three rounds faster and how would you compare his performance against Gatti to Baldomir's against Gatti?
