It isn't that people give anything about someone being hurt over anyone else. but who wants a fighter to be hurt? I don't and I am sure you don't either., but in general the sport is better when you try and minimize danger to when if a guy is hurt and not able to continue they stop the fight. Had they let Taylor continue, then where would the new standard be for stopping guys? Then if a guy had 10 seconds left and the fight were stopped. guys out here would say, well the Taylor fight continued with 3 seconds and he won the fight. The fact that Steele stopped the fight shows that boxing is a great sport which puts life ahead of wins. It isn't a question whether Taylor would have been hurt physically had they made the fight go on, it is the standard of stopping fights when a guy is finished, If you bend the rules you might as well have one minute left in a fight. That is what Steele was saying, he did not look at the clock. I think that showed alot about boxing. I wanted Taylor to win that night, but I was not mad at Steele or upset with him. and I was not upset with Taylor, he fought the fight of his life. But if anyone has to blame it is Taylor for getting caught with the big punch in round 12 and it is Duva's fault for always being so hot headed and jumping in the corner distracting Taylor and making him look to his right.. But Taylor was wearing out gradually in the fight.
