Washington (CNN)Trump's personal Boeing 757 was always the crown jewel of his wealth -- the ultimate sign that he had made it. He's used it as a backdrop for sleek photo shoots, campaign rallies, VIP tours, for shots of him eating his Big Macs and KFC, plated, with a knife and fork. Trump loved to show it off -- the customized cream-colored leather seats, gilded bathrooms, the seat buckles layered in 24-karat gold.
But today it sits idle on an airport ramp in Orange County, New York, about 60 miles north of Manhattan.
One engine is missing parts. The other is shrink-wrapped in plastic. The cost to fix and get it flyable could reach well into the high six-figures, a price-tag Trump doesn't appear to be dealing with right now. Though the current state of his finances aren't public, the Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on the hospitality industry home to so many of his businesses.
A representative for the Trump Organization did not immediately return CNN's request for comment as to why the plane is not being used, nor has been fixed -- and whether or not Trump intends to get it in flying shape anytime soon.
A CNN camera crew saw Trump's plane parked on a fenced-off tarmac at the small upstate New York airport on Wednesday, about an hour and a half drive from Trump Tower. The choice to leave it outside at a northeastern airport, exposed to the elements, has baffled aviation experts who spoke with CNN. They note that it's just a few hours' flight to warmer, more arid climes. Snow, rain, and moisture can lead to metal corrosion of the airframe and the engines -- hard to detect, and, in severe cases, catastrophic. Large airplanes are typically stored for long stretches of time in the desert southwest, where the dry climate makes corrosion nearly impossible.

65% of Republicans say Trump’s conduct surrounding the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was not wrong and he should not have been impeached by the House of Representatives. Just 4% of Democrats agree.

Is this the Biden thread
Biden tried to go up those stairs with zest, didn't work out that way. As Obama stated; never underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up. Has nothing to do with governing, but 3times? Damn, how can SNL not do a skit on it?
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Surprised Joe's troubles at the border aren't being jumped on with as much zest as his troubles on the steps up to Air Force One.
Calling like I see 'em... and ol' Joe isn't exactly covering himself in glory in dealing with the mess that right now is the U.S.-Mexico border and "Oh... what oh what to do with all these abandoned kids."
There isn't an ongoing soap opera every day so the media has to take whatever they have and expand it to fit the newshole. There was a bigger surge back in 2019 and it got zero media coverage as there'd already been one earlier in Trump's term and there was a new scandal/outrage/whatever every day to cover instead.
Some facts:

There's a huge backlog of people who would have come last year but for the pandemic and who are going to try and come this year. It is a massive problem but it's an ongoing thing, the current surge started long before Biden took office as the graph shows.
But don't you know opposition stopped scrutinizing valid policy points some 4+ years ago in favor of Hardy Boys paint huffing mystery conspiracies and copy & paste 30 second vid clips. Even the ones where On Golden Pond takes a swipe at time in D.C with a smirk
Though it's fact that the transition was literally kneecapped and kept in the dark in large part the Biden Administration should be called to the mat for lack of foresight and execution. I respect anyone who can look directly at the public and say "It's totally unacceptable" but the steps and measures that follow are what really matter. He has work to do. We've learned clearly that whataboutism and 'we'll see what happens' are not plans.

This is going on in states all over the country. Could easily be the beginning of the end of democracy in America. Note the bloke in Georgia who defied Trump is going to be primaried and replaced with some fucker who will campaign on guaranteeing to overturn an election if the Democrats win.

Keep scrolling with that one too. Very informative.
China is well behind on the two-year targets set in its trade deal with the U.S., having purchased only about a third of the goods it said it would buy so far.
Total purchases of U.S. agricultural, manufactured, and energy goods were $123 billion in the 14 months since the trade deal was signed in January 2020, according to Bloomberg analysis of official Chinese data. That was 32.6% of the target of $378 billion for 2020-21.
Is that the USCMA Act they're talking about?
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Major Biden tax hikes eyed for next bill (not final) include:

USMCA is the new name for NAFTA. It's 96% the same as NAFTA. America won some concessions over car production which will now be slightly more in America but gave some concessions as well. There'll be no change in overall employment numbers and the only change Americans will find is that some new cars will be more expensive than under the previous agreement.
The China agreement isn't even an agreement. China made a promise to buy more American goods that of course they're not keeping and Trump sold it as a game changing trade deal that would bring jobs and business flooding back to America. The trade deficit with China has gone up since they made the promise they haven't kept.
