I hate to break it to you... but this is looking more and more like a "Brocktonian prediction."

Italy has impressed even with their 2nd stringers... whereas England has underwhelmed thus far.

In fact... two teams which, if matched together would surely put half the stadium to sleep... are England and Spain.

You have to say, these Covid rules about close contact are a joke. Gilmour tests positive for Covid (not sure how or why only he got it?). His club mates Mount and Chilwell give him a hug and now they’re isolating deemed as close contact.
Are you telling me the whole Scottish Squad didn’t give him a hug in the changing rooms? They even showed his manager grabbing him, but I haven’t heard of him going into isolation. Ridiculous.

Denmark-Russia became my "fun-nest" match of the tournament so far.

Hollywood script here. Denmark loses their star player to a life-threatening collapse on the field some days ago... and here they were fighting for their tournament lives needing at least a 2-goal margin of victory against Russia, AND... a Belgium victory over Finland. When it was 2-0 Denmark, the stadium roared after hearing about a goal from Belgium to take the lead on Finland. Alas, the goal was disallowed pretty at the same time Russia kicked a penalty goal to come with 2-1. But Denmark was not to be denied and they are now truly the tournament's darlings.

Gonna be hard to root against them from here on out. Glad Russia's gone, though.

The boos have been drowned out by cheers. Millionaire footballers do not support Marxism. When sterling scored he should have taken a knee and see how many of them would boo then.

So long as we stay in we've got a chance of getting better. We can't win it in the opening games. I thought we were pretty good against Croatia. Mings, Phillips and Sterling all played well. We were fucking piss poor against Scotland. It's basically a one off against them right. Form, supposed ranking, all that shit flies out the window and it's a case of who wants it more and letting that little bit of extra class shine through, on paper anyway. We looked clueless. Pedestrian. Kane absent. Foden has had a couple of moments but on the whole I've been disappointed with him. Scotland played well to be fair.

We didnt look too great in the opening games of Euro 96. Crap against the Swiss. Gazza's wonder goal glossed over what was also a pretty shit performance against the Scots. Then things clicked and we battered the Dutch.

I'd love us to win this, or something in my lifetime. But in the grander scheme of things I just want to be happy with the way we play. Going for the throat like we mean business.
