If England manage to beat Denmark (and I think they should, though it is far from a foregone conclusion), I reckon Italy is a better matchup for them than Spain would have been ……
Italy have been brilliantly exciting, but they have lots of injuries now and their attacking play leaves vulnerabilities at the back - whereas Spain’s possession play would have really frustrated England, pushed them back and made them wholly dependant on frantic counterattack on the few times they actually had the ball.
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?

After many years of disappointment - 82 my first - I still can't see us as winners next Sunday. But that's my inbuilt defence mechanism.
That's not to say I'm looking ahead beyond Denmark, I'm not. Am just highlighting the general way I'm feeling.
I'm nervous now and it will get worse as 8pm approaches.
So to Denmark. On paper we're better and if we played them ten times you'd fancy us to win at least 5 with a couple of draws and 3 for them. But this is knockout football. Can't see us not scoring and you'd fancy us to get 2 but will that be enough....Please not penalties.
We do have the team, a vast array of options on the bench, pace, the momentum and I hope the belief in the lads too - on a level we never saw with the golden ego generation.
In short I'm bricking it
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
We have done it, first time I have seen England in a final in my lifetime. Sterling has been outstanding the whole tournament but that was not a penalty. The better team won though.

Yep 50 50 penalty and was surprised it was given Didn't think there's was a free kick either when they scored.
Schmeichel had a great game which says a lot and we did deserve it.
I didn't really celebrate at the end. Was that drained and covered in sweat. To not be in the final and not have to endure it would be a fucking relief in many ways!!!
Can we beat Italy? Not sure. There's not much in it. Play them ten times I'd expect 3 wins for them, 2 for us and 5 draws. One glorious moment from one player brings or takes it away from home.

Congratulations to England for making the Final.
Interesting matchup from a Saddo standpoint, as longtime member Primo will be pitted against most of the Brits on here who will obviously be rooting for the home country.
Should be a riveting matchup.
Eric's nowhere to be found after predicting an early tournament exit for Italy.![]()
