Yeah the same Torrez as in the video is the fighter being tipped for big things,

We all remember that KO which caused outrage 3 years ago

The complete mismatch sparked a furious reaction among the boxing community, led by WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman.

"Brutal and criminal to allow a professional boxer Jalolov from Russia with 6-0 as a pro to fight outclassed, outweighed and far smaller USA 20-year-old amateur Torrez AIBA world championship in Russia,” he tweeted.

Well Jalolov is in this 2020 Olympics too. He is fighting on the 28th at 11:00pm EST.

They didn't even look close in size and weight, unless torrwz has really improved his nutrition with Mexican beef I can't see him beating that guy :S...

Olympic boxing suffers from the same shitty judging malady that professional boxing does. Difference being they only have three rounds to totally screw things up.

*Not boxing, no other thread . Unpopular opinion maybe but um didn't Simone Biles flat out quit on her team . I mean I get it..yes tons of pressure in the Olympics as a star athlete but not exactly her first rodeo. Just confused by that move and this full rush to throw heaps of 'brave courage' praise on her. Maybe today's my asshole day but bit ironic she just managed to multiple the focus and pressure tens times over on herself after stating she did it for the team and to take a backseat for them to avoid just that. Of course tons of that is on the media but I mean..huh . Maybe in Cynic-ville they wanted to take the spotlight off the Biles shine because they knew they were not going to get Gold. No idea just seems like a trend lately when it comes to the twenty somethings. Alright thread hi-jack over

    Don't feel bad, @Spicoli
I'm about to do the same thing. Especially given the fact that the Olympics are now over.

But just saw this on the news today.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/oly...out&li=BBnb7Kz

"A French Runner Knocked Water Bottles Over During the Olympic Men's Marathon"

Funny thing about the accompanying video clip is it ends with a female commentator going "Emmm...." before getting cut off. Would've been interesting to see if she was about to give her take on what they had just seen.

TBH, it looks too much like the guy purposely knocked over the whole row of bottles before "miraculously" grabbing the last one. Especially when the runners ahead of him were able to pluck their bottle without disturbing the rest.

I'm thinking he would've been more effective if he grabbed his bottle first... stopped and tipped the table over... and kept running. Maybe he loses 3-5 seconds, tops. But he also eliminates the second row of bottles in the process.

Yeah one is a bit larger. Or one is just a tab bit smaller.

I always like Richie Woodhall’s commentary. He is a really good technical analyst and had such a good amateur career himself that he is excellent and knowledgeable about amateur bouts. He is the only guy who really analyses anything, the rest just describe what you are already seeing on screen.

I've been saying this for years, Woodhall should be a regular on Sky/BT/DAZN
    Brilliant knowledge of boxing.
