"Hebert Sousa win boxing gold for Brazil by knocking out middleweight opponent at Olympics"
This one was quite the stunner. Sousa was losing by shutout to top seeded Oleksandr Khyzhniak of Ukraine until he connected with a picture perfect left hook that dropped Kyhzhniak on his back. He got up shakily, and the ref stopped the fight. Until then it had been totally one-sided. This is the cool thing about boxing. One punch can turn a fight 180 degrees. I believe only the 2nd gold in Olympic boxing history for Brazil. Sousa's celebration was something to see. Felt good for the guy.
This year's olympic boxing has many promising young boxers
Galal Yafai did brilliantly to win the gold and looks a top prospect, Eddie Hearn etc will be putting offers in to sign him up.
Team GB did good overall, 2nd highest medal haul of the games.
harry garside brought us home a bronze. our first medal in olympic boxing since 1988
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
Don't feel bad, @Spicoli
I'm about to do the same thing. Especially given the fact that the Olympics are now over.
But just saw this on the news today.

"A French Runner Knocked Water Bottles Over During the Olympic Men's Marathon"
Funny thing about the accompanying video clip is it ends with a female commentator going "Emmm...." before getting cut off. Would've been interesting to see if she was about to give her take on what they had just seen.
TBH, it looks too much like the guy purposely knocked over the whole row of bottles before "miraculously" grabbing the last one. Especially when the runners ahead of him were able to pluck their bottle without disturbing the rest.
I'm thinking he would've been more effective if he grabbed his bottle first... stopped and tipped the table over... and kept running. Maybe he loses 3-5 seconds, tops. But he also eliminates the second row of bottles in the process.
