Thanks fellas it was a most fantastic day. Been together for 25yrs so will take a while to get used to calling the Mrs my wife.
I can see why if you can afford it, people would pay someone else to plan and organise everything as it is a massive ballache to pull off properly. I ended up cutting flowers and dressing tables etc up until about 30 mins before hand and having to get dressed at the venue etc to just make it happen.
Quite a few were put off by the idea of a large gathering in these times but more than enough did turn up to make it feel as close to a 'normal' as a wedding as ours was ever going to be.
Hosting it 3 days after a mass shooting incident was not ideal but cancelling it would not have helped anyone either.
I booed a bit on the vows, which is not like me at all and I fucked up by forgetting to book a taxi, so had to rely on brother in law getting out of bed after narrowly avoiding a fight at the taxi rank at stupid o clock in the morning, when some moronic youngsters didnt think a disabled bride on her wedding day deserved to jump the queue.
More stressful than moving house but much more fun on the day, and I even got up and sung with a hastily assembled band for the first time in 10 years. So apologies to the guests who had to suffer that (:
