What was his best/worst fights?
A signature career win?
Where does he rate as a WW in his era?
And is he worthy of HOF status?

All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Amatuer:
2007-United States Golden Gloves Championship
KO'd At Pam Am Games
Notable wins- Has anyone see these fights? I've only seen Jacobs)
Daniel Jacobs, Demetrius Andrade, Edwin Rodriguez, Shawn Estrada, Jonathan Nelson, and Oleksandr Usyk
I love his honesty in how he beat Usyk.
he said (Because) it was points total, not rounds- was how he won - Stated he lost 1st, 2nd, 3rd...By a point- but midway in last round he scored a buncha points...so it was totalled by points(shots) landed not by round that gave him a victory of Usyk. LOL!!!!
So Sean...do you want a rematch in the pros with Usyk?
Porter: "uh....hell no!"
Porter vs Danny jacobs in amatuersw
Read in the comments- Terrence Crawford fought Danny and Mikey Garcia- same tournament same week!!! WOW!
Side note- So Sean Porter, like Andre Berto fought at heavier weight as amatuers,....Porter 160 plus Then maintained WW throughout his pro career - a testement to his dicispline? He drops Danny around 5:40 into clip
around 8minutes in...IMO Porter goes pro- str8 head hunting!!! Nice last minute...I see how he beat Jacobs.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Porter on his am-win over Usyk
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
2:16 into clip Joe T. makes a @TitoFan type of comment about Porter! "This is dirty boxing at its best"
Naw, it's an ass whoopin, plain and simple!
4:30 till last second of the video Porter actually lands jabs, then follows up with winging shots.
I think this is one of his 3 best wins as Berto from 2014-till they met in 2017 had just one loss a boring points loss to Mayweather. Stops Ortiz in 2016, then got beat up Porter in 2017.
2nd best fight was his loss to Spence. I expected Errol to do to Sean, what Bud did; compete, ebb n flow adjust, then stop, but the fact that Porter went the distance in a high output fight, that solidified that he was more than just a mauler.
His best was over Paulie. Sure Paulie isnt a power puncher, was past his prime- But during his prime not even Cotto could stop him inside of six. How not? Paulie in his prime still had light punches.
Leadingh up to their fight, Paulie took away Vyacheslav Senchenko's 0, beat Pablo Cesar Cano & got a one judge to give him the nod over Broner- losing a SD. Broner is as strong of a fighter as Porter is...between two past it fighters...who thought it would be Paulie over Zab J? Well that version of Paulie got destroyed by Porter
Paulie: "Sean is Basic"
Kenny P: :Well basically we gonna whoop that ass"
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
His worst fight was his most important fight - Bud
It was a pretty good fight. But now that I watched it again (with what his pops said) gotta agree, He got up from that KD as if he was defeated mentally, not physically.
How does a father say his son didnt prepare for the biggest fight of his career? I can only deduce he must've had doubts from the getgo. If, so, he had no business accepting the fight. Maybe he knew if he trained his hardest- he would still lose, so why bother.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
I don't think he is a 1st ballot HOFer. Couldnt string together 2 title wins - But I keep thinking about what I call the Gatti-factor- if he made it.....
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Shawn Porter was a top welterweight contender who happened to have the right promoter which was why he became champion.
He lost to the best versions of Kell Brook, Thurman, Spence and Crawford. He beat good contenders/champions Ugas, Garcia and Broner but was never an elite fighter. Porter used high energy and mauling tactics.
George Groves said he either fought him or was in the same amateur tournament as him so he must and been a top amateur at the time.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
