Also Jeff Lacy is still a good fighter, he'll KO Tsypko and if a Mundine fight happens Jeff would win

Mundine was a rugby star not Aussie Rules. Green Vs Lacey would be heaps better to see. Lacy would not be able to catch Mundine. Green is quicker than Lacey. Mundine also has power from his speed. Mundine would win this very convincingly. Green would also beat Lacey fairly convincingly.![]()
Dont want to get into a slanging match here but if you met Anthony and spent 30 minutes talking to him i'm sure you would change your whole opinion. He is a gifted athlete who could represent his country in a number of sports. He is a role model to the Aboriginal youth of Australia. His message has always been no drugs, no drinking and no smoking. As for being a dirty fighter, thats just laughable. He is a walking headline because he says what he believes and wont back away from what he believes. From what i've seen of Jeff Lacy, Mundine does to him what he did to Danny Green, a boxing clinic.Originally Posted by wacko3205
If I met Mundine I would look him straight in the eye and ask him "you took shots from Antwuan Echols, Mikkel Kessler and a couple from Danny Grren. How in the hell did Sven Ottke lay you the fuck out?"Originally Posted by zak

personally I think he was faking! he just quit and layed there embarressed waiting for everyone to go away
he damned near won the fight but definatley took it to early in his career.
I doubt he was faking. After all that bullshit he was talking, the last thing he would want is to be layed out by a feather-fisted like Ottke.Originally Posted by Hairdoo
I get the feeling that mundine is ganna win this after the beating Lacy took and the long layoff.

He was confident Ottke could not hurt him, what he failed to realise was Ottke was a very experienced, seasoned professional with a great amateur record as well. Mundine's lack of experience with only 10 pro fights and no amateur fights at all, found him out of gas after 9 rounds and Ottke knew it. Mundine had two choices after round 9, try to last another three rounds with Ottke all over him and take a loss and a beating as well or hit the canvas the first time Ottke lands a half decent shot. I firmly believe he chose the latter. Anyone who saw the Soliman fight, two fights earlier, where Mundine was spent after 8 rounds, had Sam had any power at all that fight would have ended the same way.
ANTHONY (THE MAN) MUNDINE the undisputed super middleweight champion of the world!!
mark my words, when the record books have been written, mundine shall riegn supreme!![]()
Weren't you trying to justify to me not too long ago that Mundine was a good fighter on Kessler's resume?Originally Posted by Violent Demise
I said Robin Ried is not all that much better than Mundine or Beyer. Both who Kessler beat. Take it anyway you want to.Originally Posted by Majesty
I think this could be a great fight.....Lacy has something to prove...and Mundine wants to get right back into the mix......Originally Posted by bilbo

How the hell is he a dirty fighter ?Originally Posted by wacko3205
There are only 2 possible outcomes for this fight. Mundine easy UD or Lacy KO.
Yeah, i think it was more exhaustion then actual power that knocked him out. He didnt even spar for that fight and was way too inexperienced to take anyone lightly let alone a world champion.Originally Posted by zak
In Mundines defense, whilst he is cocky and outspoken, brash and narcisisstic in front of the media, he is humble, generous and a quiet gentleman outside of the ring. The reason he gets a bad rap from the public (expecially in Australia) is because of the way he promotes himself. When you see him talking himself up, he is merely building his image, getting people interested in him, talking about him, hating him, loving him, etc etc...and that is why he is the one of, if not the most profitable promoters in Australia. He is business smart and cares little about his public image because he is onfident of the person that he really is...he knows his friends and family love and respect him, and to him, everything else matters little.
And anyway...who is Danny Green without Mundine? Mundine gave Green fame. Mundine gave Green his retirement plan.
Mundine was the same when he played Rugby League. He promoted himself as the best five eighth going around. And at the time he probably was. Only he never got selected to reprasent Australia because of his mouth.
What you dont see of Mundine is the work he does for his community and in particular the Aboriginal people. He has donated his time and plenty of money to various causes and asks for nothing in return. He wont talk this up, or get the media involved...he doesnt have to. Its unimportant. He doesnt drink. Doesnt smoke. Doesnt do drugs. Isn't involved in crime or anything shady. He is a great role model for his people, which unfortunately they need badly.
As a massive fan of Rugby League (the 2nd most brutal sport in the world) i never liked him much. Early in his career i never liked him much. But as i came to realise who the person behind "the man" was, my opinion of him slowly began to change. Now i have a lot of respect for him. His skills get better with every fight. Given how long he has been boxing, he can only get better. He would make Lacy look like an amateur. He would test Kessler big time, if not beat him if there were to be a rematch. And who knows...might even get a belt one day...
I can only wish the guy all the best. But i do wish he wasnt so cocky...just i can understand why he is...
