BOXING makes its long-awaited return to London this weekend as John Ryder faces super-middleweight rival Daniel Jacobs.
Ryder hasn't been in action since a knock-over job out in Austria toward the end of 2021 while Jacobs last fought in 2020.
The Miracle Man won a closely-contested split decision over Gabe Rosado in Phoenix, Arizona, but is on the lookout for big fights again.
A clash with Ryder in London could do just that, as the winner is set to be thrust into a title-contending position with the WBA.
Canelo Alvarez, who beat Jacobs in 2019, currently holds the WBA title at 168lbs, while Ryder has previously boxed for the same strap against Callum Smith.
Daniel Jacobs' big super-middleweight clash will take place on Saturday, February 12.
The main card is set to get going from 7pm UK time, with the main event likely to start around 10pm.
Jacobs vs Ryder will be held at the Alexandra Palace in London.
There will be a capacity of 8,000 at the event.
The show will be promoted by Eddie Hearn's Matchroom.
Jacobs said: “I’m super excited to be returning to the ring.
"It has always been a dream of mine to fight in London as a professional, and I’m looking forward to fighting in front of a great crowd. I’m putting my best foot forward.”
Ryder added: "This is the fight I need to really bring the best out in me.
"Jacobs is a great fighter but he has had his time and now it’s my time to shine!
"My dreams are at stake and destiny awaits. It’s time to get right back to where I need to be.”

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I like Ryder, always have done. But he was always just short of top level at MW . And that was his optimum weight. He is not a SMW, he’s too small.
Yes , he fought well against Callum Smith, I think the “he was robbed” shtick is a bit over the top.
It was the best fight of his career, and the worst of Smith’s.

Figure this will be an afternoon show here in the States? I'm really pulling for Ryder. Have nothing against Jacobs, the man has defied the grim reaper and done very well in return but feels like time and interest have caught up post Canelo. The Rosado waltz was just bad all over though both can be faulted for that.

- Johnny Fisher vs. Gabriel Enguema, 6 rounds, heavyweight
- Felix Cash vs. Magomed Madiev, 12 rounds, middleweight – vacant WBC International middleweight title
- Ellie Scotney vs. Jorgelina Guanini, 10 rounds, super bantamweight – vacant WBA Intercontinental bantamweight title
- Austin Williams vs. Javier Maciel, 8 rounds, middleweight
Williams / Maciel just finished. Maciel just didn't want any more punishment.
