I don't want boxing to be like every other sport. It's boxing and that's why I love it.Originally Posted by bilbo

Why announce the scorecards during the fight? The judges' scores should be passed on to an independent adjudicator at the end of each round, but to announce it to the crowd and to the fighters will completely change the shape of the fight.
A fighter who is well ahead at the end of the eighth round will just back-off and cover up - much like in football (soccer) where a team will take the ball into the corner or pass it about at the back.
I want to see action until the final bell! I want to see two fighters who have no idea which way the decision is going to go.
And I want the excitement of the announcement. That's all part of watching a title fight - waiting as the announcer says ..."and the NEW!!!" or "...and STILL!!!"
There must be a better way to sort out the problem of judging.
Still, at least it's not going to affect the Mayweather v Baldomir fight (which I have a crazy feeling Baldmoir could steal)
