Bivol offered to do the rematch at 168 and Canelo’s team chose GGG. Tells you everything you need to know.
Now recently I have given Canelo a lot of praise and respect.
But if that was any other fighter that did that they would be called Duck, Chicken and just about every other farmyard animal you can think of.

What are some people saying that Canelo is duck or chicken to rematch Bivol at 168?

I can not see Bivol beat Canelo at super middleweight. He would be too weak at the weight. Canelo should take the offer after Triple G.

Yep, but he got beat. That should change EVERYTHING! so what, just airbrush the Bivol defeat from his record like some people try to airbrush the Floyd defeat out.
I heard on more than one occasion in the build up to the Bivol fight from Media that don’t normally involve themselves in Boxing Canelo being called “The undefeated……..” it’s pathetic.

canelo did lose but the plan announced before the fight was dmitry & then ggg. if canelo had won there would be those complaining canelo was avoiding artur by fighting ggg next. canelo can't win. it's not like canelo has kept the ggg fight secret & then snuck it in there. i am not airbrushing the defeat from canelo's record. canelo took on a massive challenge & came up short. no shame in that. let's see where things go from here. i'd prefer dmitry against the artur v joe winner than an immediate rematch with canelo

Golovkin can't wait around forever and if the plan was for Canelo to fight him next... so be it. I think GGG will get starched, but c'est la vie. He fought Canelo stupidly when he had his chance... and now he's older and more shop-worn. He just wants to cash out and I guess can't blame him for that. I never wanted a 3rd Canelo-GGG fight, but it is what it is.

I also don't think much of Bivol going down in weight to challenge Canelo. He's going to be a weaker version of himself, and give up the main advantage he had over Canelo.

Besides... after seeing the judges scores after the Bivol fight.... who in their right minds thinks they can win a decision over Canelo??!??

Those f*cking judges must've been crying as they turned in their scorecards, knowing they had blown their assignment.

i thought ggg fought well in the first fight. the second fight i think he fought the wrong fight. i'd prefer canelo v ggg three over ggg v the likes of maciej sulecki, gary o'sullivan or danny dignum, guys who are getting shots at middleweight gold recently

Gennadiy Golovkin says he was surprised at the aggressive behavior from Canelo Alvarez during Friday’s kick-off press conference in Los Angeles to begin the promotion for their September 17th fight on DAZN pay-per-view.

Canelo (57-2-2, 39 KOs) said Golovkin was an “a**hole” and got in his face aggressively during their face-off. Golovkin’s takeaway from the experience is that Canelo showed that he’s “not confident” going into their third meeting.

It’s unclear what happened to Canelo’s self-confidence, but it could be his recent one-sided loss to WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol on May 7th.

Bivol completely outclassed Canelo from A to B, making him and his trainer Eddy Reynoso look inept. Losing in that manner might have knocked a chip off Canelo’s once-proud self-belief.

Of course, with what Golovkin’s impressive performances against Canelo in their two fights, might have something to do with the Mexican star appearing insecure during Friday’s press conference, and trying to intimidate him to gain an edge.

“He’s two different people. He pretends to be a nice guy, but he’s not, he’s an a**hole,” said Canelo about Golovkin.

“It was curious for me to observe his behavior and his reactions and to me, he looked a bit different,” said Golovkin to Fight Hub TV when asked about his thoughts on seeing Canelo on Friday at the Los Angeles kickoff press conference.

“About the things that he’s saying about the words that he’s choosing and his behavior,” said Golovkin when asked what was different about Canelo.

“I didn’t react immediately to this because it was probably the interpreter’s fault. He smoothed it down a little bit, but what can I say now? He’s just a red mouse? I don’t know.

“I’m not focused with him. I don’t know what he’s trying to do and what game he’s trying to play. I looked at him and he was kind of like agitated too much,” said Golovkin in commentating on Canelo’s behavior during the press conference.

“His behavior shows that he’s not confident. He would have behaved differently if he thought he won that second fight, but I don’t think about it. He’s not on my mind.

“It’s hard for me to compete this fight to any other fight, but I know it’s going to be a tough fight. We’ll see. I’m 40-years-old, and you can take that away from me. I’m not trying to use that as an excuse.

“I’m going to get ready, and we’ll see how it’s going to play out,” said Golovkin.

I hope Golovkin can go out with his head held high.

Golovkin's chin is still made out of granite, but he looks very susceptible to body punches & I can envisage Alvarez folding him in half with body punches & stopping him late.

    Then there's this.

BTW, let me go on record by saying it doesn't reach the 8th round. I don't usually predict rounds, and GGG may very well pleasantly surprise me (early Xmas gift for me)... but the old man's ripe for the picking, and Ginger doesn't have to worry about losing a decision (proven fact). He'll go at GGG with abandon and the full confidence of outweighing Golovkin by 10-15 pounds by fight night. TKO for Ginger before the 8th round.

in regards to primo carnera's post the plan that i am aware of was always dmitry & then ggg next. who else would you choose to pick ggg off next? canelo does have to worry about losing a decision, as he lost his last fight by decision, proven fact. we'll have to weight until fight night to see if in ring weights are posted. i still favour canelo by knockout in eleven or twelve or a close decision either way

The rivalry between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez has been ongoing for many years. The pair always seemed destined to collide in one way or another and now, as we approach their third and likely final meeting, it appears as if their feud has become more bitter than ever before.

In addition to the pair wanting to be known as the superior boxer, they’ve also been trading some personal shots at one another through press conferences and a variety of interviews. Of course, Canelo is the one who has the bragging rights at this moment in time, given that he holds one win over GGG with their initial meeting being a draw.

Still, that hasn’t stopped Golovkin from letting the world know what he thinks about the Mexican sensation, as he did once again during a recent interview.

“When someone is unable to see reality, that is his problem, it says a lot about him. His behavior at the press conference shows how insecure he is, how he still lives in illusions about the situation, the stories. He drew his own conclusions based on the first press conference. His behavior was different in the second. He analyzed that he looked ridiculous [in the first one]. For a fighter of this caliber, someone who wants to be great, shows that he still needs to grow, he needs to learn a lot. He is far from being the best,” Golovkin said.

    Ginger wins by mid-round KO.
He should go into the fight as a 1/100 favorite.
