Tyson Fury has been retired for seven weeks and admits nothing has changed since calling time from the sport.

Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title by defeating Dillian Whyte inside six rounds in April at Wembley Stadium.

The 33-year-old told talkSPORT that there is no truth in rumours circulating about a return to the ring for £200m against the winner of Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

"Even that £200million report today, that didn't even tempt me," said Fury.
"That would be like half of what I would want to come out of retirement. I'd probably want half a billi to come out of retirement.

"I'm telling you the truth, if you want me out of retirement it's gonna cost half a billi." When asked about a fight against Joshua, Fury added: "He ain't a virgin anymore, he's been battered from pillar to post by a fat man on three weeks' notice and by a middleweight

"Usyk hasn't [been beaten], but that's a middleweight coming up from cruiserweight to heavyweight, none of my interest at all. "If it's half a billi, then I won't say no, will I? "What you've gotta do is go and get half a billi, and then the Gypsy King will come out and solve all his problems for him," Fury said about a possible comeback. "Because if AJ gets beat again off Usyk, then there's only gonna be one man to redeem this great fighting nation of the United Kingdom and he goes by the name of Tyson Fury. "I can solve all the problems, the embarrassment, all that stuff that's gonna happen. "One call, but it's gonna cost half a bill. 500 million pounds or dollars, I don't care, as long as it's half a billi." Fury could not resist a dig at Joshua when asked if he was scared or intimidated at the prospect of facing him. "Oh, I'm terrified of him. "He's got a chin of granite, heart of gold, he's got everything that a fighting man should have. "Oh, I'm absolutely shaking in my boots."

Kubrat Pulev expects Oleksandr Usyk to knock out Anthony Joshua in their highly-anticipated rematch.

The Bulgarian star doesn’t rate the British superstar very highly at all.

That’s despite being knocked out by him at the O2 Arena in London back in 2020.

But he insists that was because he didn’t prepare properly for their fight.

Pulev told iFL TV: “When they make a rematch, I think Usyk is going to knock him out because Joshua is nothing special.

“I lost against him, but I wasn’t good prepared.

“It’s my mistake, of course. It’s my fault, but that was the situation. Now I have a lot of power and energy. Health is most important.”

Joshua, 32, has assembled a crack team after having a huge sort out to help him get over what his new trainer Robert Garcia has described as a ‘mental problem’ ahead of his rematch with Usyk.

AJ suffered his second career defeat in September last year when he was outpointed by Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

But Garcia is convinced they can bring the best out of him as he attempts to regain his belts.

Garcia told his YouTube channel: “A lot of fighters, they come off a loss – like probably after the Andy Ruiz Jr fight – they come off a loss thinking that was never gonna happen.

“So it affected him, it affected him mentally.

“He probably thought, ‘Maybe that’s the end of my career, maybe that’s it,’ so he had a lot of things going on in his mind.

“I think that’s one of the most important things that affected Anthony and that’s what I’m here to change – me and Angel and other help that he’s got.

“He’s created a team of not only me and Angel teaming up, preparing the game plan and training him with the right strategy or the right sparring partners to go out and perform.

“He hired other people that are also very smart.

“Not boxing trainers, just different people that could help with the way he’s thinking.

“Somebody that’s with him, thinking positive with him. Everybody around him is positive.

“Everybody around him is pushing him to his limits, to what he was doing before he lost his first fight.

“He needs to know and believe that he’s still as good, or he’s gonna be even better than he was before he became champion for the first time, when he went out there and was knocking everybody out.”

Garcia, 47, has worked with many current and former world champions throughout his career including his brother Mikey Garcia, 34, Filipino icon Nonito Donaire, 39, and Argentine legend Marcos Maidana, 38.

He continued: “A lot of times when a fighter is so good, so accomplished with a gold medal, two-time heavyweight champion, sometimes then they might get a little too comfortable.

“They might think, ‘I already lost a fight, so maybe I’m not as good?’

“It gets to the head. It’s something that we have to change.

“Because he already did it. He already won the gold medal against the best fighters in the world.

“And then as a pro he also did beat the best to become heavyweight champion of the world.

“We didn’t see that before he lost. After he lost is when we’ve seen that there’s more of a mental problem so we’re working on that.

“We have to push him in training, in sparring.

“The work is gonna be done, he just has to go out there and perform.”

I honestly give Joshua a 15% chance of winning and that's just going for it from the start and imposing his strength and going for the kill.

Dangerous against a smart tactician like Usyk but the only way I see an AJ win.

Once it goes past 4 Joshua is there for the taking.

ANTHONY JOSHUA and Oleksandr Usyk's hotly-anticipated rematch is NOW finally in the diary after months of speculation.

Joshua and his Ukrainian counterpart had been due to do battle in May, but Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine put that on hold.

35-year-old Usyk returned to his home country to join the fight against Russia, which began in February.

He has now returned to his training camp upon receiving permission to do so from Ukraine's sports minister.

Usyk outpointed and largely outclassed a game Joshua in front of 70,000 fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September to win the WBA, WBO, IBF & IBO world titles.

Just like the Olympic gold medallist did after his loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019, Joshua wants to right his wrong by facing the Ukrainian in a rematch.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn told The Sun earlier this month that his client is 'baffled' by the tactics used last year, and hinted at a change of gameplan for the rematch.

He said: "I was talking to him the other night and I think finally it’s baffled him why he fought like that.

"For a long time, he still felt even when he lost that he could still beat Usyk like that. But why when you don’t need to fight like that?

"He could fight in your old style and have a much better chance of beating him. Klitschko-style but Usyk is a tremendous fighter, a great counterpuncher."

Hearn added that AJ "needs to be a lot more aggressive" this time.

The two sides have spent months negotiating a money-spinning deal for AJ's second fight in Saudi Arabia, having beaten Andy Ruiz Jr on points in the oil-rich country in December 2019.

Joshua will also have a new training team, with the experienced Robert Garcia leading his corner while Angel Fernandez plays second-in-command.

• The fight is going to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
• Joshua last fought in Saudi Arabia in December 2019, with the fight beginning at 9pm UK time.

• Joshua vs Usyk 2 will be shown on DAZN after the Brit left Sky Sports in a deal worth up to £100 million.
• It's unclear how much the PPV will cost, with DAZN adding a pay-per-view arm to their model this year.
• DAZN costs £7.99 to subscribe to in the UK, with subscribers given unrivalled access to a host of big names including Canelo Alvarez and Ryan Garcia.

The fight will take place in the Jeddah Super Dome.

The 40,000-seater stadium is the largest geodesic dome in the world to stand without pillars, and hosted the WWE Elimination Chamber in February.

Saudi Arabia has been a controversial host country, with the oil-rich nation accused of sports washing after spending huge sums luring some of the world's best golfers to their new LIV series.

Hearn, however, has dismissed any such comparison. He said: "He is not worried about any backlash because he has done it before.

"He will ultimately go, 'Eddie over to you'. I am not going to pass the buck but it is very different when the deal is a 50/50 split. How can we go back to Usyk and say, 'Let’s do it at Spurs’ because they will just say it is a non-starter."
