Does not matter as much about defending the undisputed and unified title than achieving it. There are too many belts to be able to defend them successfully anyway.

Boxing has to aspire to have one champion and if it can be achieved which it can on this occasion then it will happen.

When was the last time you saw a surprise outcome in a HW title fight (don't say Usyck Joshua)
When was the last time you saw a HW title fight that could have gone either way, and was followed by an obligatory rematch
When was the last time you placed your bum on an expensive seat for a HW title fight

The answers to the above questions will explain why pub fighting (aka MMA/UFC etc.) is taking over the mainstream

With all due respect if you think Usyck was a 'surprise' win, let me know if you ever get a job with a bookmaker. Tight verdict, even controversial was the game plan, with the draw in reserve.
