Hard to say. If Baldo has been doing this pretty much his entire career...then based on his last two fights...I'd say him.

Honestly...I think that the weight issue will arise for my guy (Floyd) but I think that he can over come it.

Baldo, IWO, will give Floyd a fight. I think that we all (Floyd fans) will be surprised...hence the reason that I am prepping me-self. I think that the fact that he TKO'd Gatti & the fact that he went toe to toe with Judah speaks quite a lot.

If Floyd pulls his usual 4 round feeling out plan then Baldo has a chance...& Floyd will do so. It's the way he works. Replay all of his old fights. Floyd always feels the opponent out for 4-5 rounds...no matter what.

This is Baldo's opportunity to press Floyd to a point that he is out of his comfort zone.

I still think that Floyd will over come though.

Agreed...but he's waaaaaaaaaay outside of his weight class. I personally think that Floyd belongs @ 140lbs. I always have & I always will.

it should be business as usual for Floyd when he steps in the ring, Not like Baldo who has to starve himself for 3 days to make weight...Which worries me cutting 50 or so lbs is HUGE especially as you get older and metabolism slows.. That has to start taking its toll and we have seen fighters who have gotten real old in a matter of 3-4 rounds from being weight drained
Again...this is something that Baldo does all the time according to press.

Whether or not it's a "don't believe everything that you read" scenario remains to be seen.

Agreed. Also...what is a bit more settling is to look at how Floyd did in those three fights (Corrales, Castillo I & II) & compare them to Baldo. Again...the weight is an issue...but the fact that Corrales & Castillo are knock out are-teests & Baldo is not...well...for lack of better words...it gives a Floyd fan confidence.

I hate it when I make a faux pas....Floyd is still a nob, I recant only for my lack of respect to Baldomir. Baldomir is a very worthy and tough pro....

Floyd has all the talent in the world, but he really is an arrogant and most unlikeable fellow...

From what i seen, he will KO hatton in under 10, but this sat will eb first chance i get to take a proper look at him so will be interesting then:P

I was indeed being the nob with my original posting!

Baldomir is a very solid welterweight so perhaps it wont be a walk in the park. But then again, both Gatti and Zab have their obvious flaws. Floyd doesnt. It may very well be a shut out. Its a tricky fight to judge really.

I still maintain that if Floyd ever goes gets in the ring with Hatton then fireworks are the order of the day. A real superfight. Hatton can beat him.

Do you wanna see a crappy boxer that goes to church every sunday and does what he can to help people out or do you wanna see a good boxer and not care about how cocky or self centered he is? He gets paid to win and look good doing it, not for being good to everyone else.

Floyd is a great boxer, I know this and have said it. Still, he is a twat and has picked his opponents very selectively for a long time.

I wanna see a good boxer who fights nothing but the best and doesnt talk shite about being better than SRL whilst doing so...

Going to church is more an ecumenical matter and im just not going there...

And Hatton's opponents haven't been picked selectively?

He has already had a Light Welterweight belt, He has been offered bigger paydays. Just get over it, it's not gonna happen. You should be concerned with how Hatton is gonna take his first loss at the hands of Castillo.
If he stayed at 140 (who cares if he had one belt?) and beat Hatton, after Hatton beat Kostya, that would probably have earned him a lot more respect than moving up up and away to 147 to fight easy fights. Oh yeah and to accuse other fighters like ODLH of having hand picked opposition............what a F****** cock!!

He is full of S*** just like you.

Oh yeah, and if Castillo beats Ricky I will be surprised. At least he will actually be awarded the win though if he does and not totally fucking robbed.

Hmmm a jounreyman world champion Sound a bit familair floyd? He needs to look at who he's fighting on Saturday night first. Until floyd shows me that he can overcome the odds and win a fight when he's a massive inderdog, i;ll still back hatton to push flyd to the limit.
Hmm... shouldn't sound familiar.. since he's fighting the undisputed champion and not a belt holder
Belts dont mean anything. This guy has 9 losses, so if floyd beats him he only achieves what another 9 guys have already done before him. What titles are on the line tonight starr?

CC for the read JT. Very good read. I agree,Hatton is not going to make anywhere near $13million in USA,maybe in the UK he would make that equivalent but lil Floyd is not going to take that route is he? As for Floyd being cocky, although at times he comes out with piles of BS,I think I can overlook it considering what a joy he is to watch in the ring. I expect another boxing clinic tonight.

I agree and disagree with his statments about Oscar. The Goldenboy has been AWESOME for boxing in my opinion but as a fighter,he's bene up and down. He has beaten over the hill guys,he has beaten guys he should have lost to(Sturm etc) but he has been willing to fight everyone and has moved up through so many weight classes and been on the wrong end of some decisions too(Mosley fight). I believe PBF would beat him.

Hatton doesn't want to rematch Luis Collazo. He sure as hell doesn't want to fight Mayweather

Thanks Bro.... CC back I would of like to see the fight myself I just think Hatton isint as comfortable at 147lbs and I doubt Floyd is going to 140 anytime soon since he has an agenda...I give Ricky a ton of credit for admitting that 147 isint optimum for him, he knows what he can handle, nothing wrong with that...

I hope Floyd dosent go any higher than 147lbs...Even tho a DLH fight would be at 154..But hopefully thats a one stop shop for Floyd.. Tonite will answer a lot of questions on Floyds legitimacy at 147 and how he handles a natural Welter...

I don't honestly believe tonight will answer much. I don't rate Baldo highly and although I congratulate him for his successes,he is not a powerful WW,nor a particularly big one. Baldo ko ratio is low and I don't think he is particularly skilled. I expect Floyd to win easily and Baldo will most likely retire afterwards. If you really want to see how Floyd handles WW,he needs to fight a strong WW like Margarita,WIlliams,Cintron,Quintana etc etc.

I agree skill wise Baldy is a Journryman at best...I shouda worded it better..The questions that will get answered is how much can he hurt a natural Welter and does he have to break his hands to do so. Cause that boy is all head...He has an anvil for a melon...I agree with you Gamo and I'll tell you dont be suprised if Baldo gets beat as bad as Gatti did...Scary thing is Gatti was outboxing Baldomir before he got lured into the slugfest...

That is of course what he should do, but I'm thinkin he will most likely win this take the belts and go up to 154 to fight Spinks (if the de la Hoya payday doesn't come through of course). Don't get me wrong I think PBF is a phenomenal boxer, but he is a better business man.......

"I ain't gonna let this shit fuck up my money" - Floyd Mayweather, during the scuffle between Roger Mayweather and Zab Judah.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
