super mariusz (uncontested strongest man in the world) was suspended 1 year for a substance that used to be legal in the sport and than they changed the rules on it or something and he's unstoppable now that hes been clean of it for years.Originally Posted by Hous
and I'm gonna go out on a limb here (not really) and say ole Mariusz couldn't run a 8 min mile if his life depended on it!! strength does not mean fitness....some of the strongest men on the planet look like obese truckers....Originally Posted by Punisher136

i strongly Disagree that Sergei called him tht ,hes the most polite humble heavyweight champ ive ever seen ..its all hype ..and briggs knows it because he "heard it through someine else"
all my moneys go on PBF and the White Wolf tonight ...i hope it will be good night![]()
this is where you would be wrong. Despite being 6'1 and 291 pounds he has a very low body fat percentage and is in very good shape. To clinch the '05 title he picked up an awkwardly shaped 374 pound object and ran 90 meters with it. It was more like a casual jog but stillOriginally Posted by THE Bigragu

90 yards...1 mile......oh yeah...real close....270ft vs 5280ft....close.....I've seen bodybuilders winded after a couple flights of steps.......Originally Posted by Punisher136

I'm pretty sure mariusz would do better at running than a marathon runner would do in a strong man competition.Originally Posted by THE Bigragu

Now that I've ended sarcasm. Shannon was a very lazy fighter and much like Bowe would blow up between fights and decide to not do any roadwork or anything and would be like a fat tub of goo in the ring, recently he has been weight training with that fat and it's become muscle, it's VERY possible. If Shannon weighed 230 a fight and then 268 of pure muscle his next then I would agree with you, but this is over the course of 5 years. Thats a lot of time.
In one year Holyfield put on 12 pounds of muscle to fight Bow again for a rematch and he was in his 30's as well. It's not impossible.
On to the part I bolded..
Was that just a major opinion? What the hell? You do not put on muscle after 30 in the sport of boxing? Where did you go to weight school at
That IS bullshit
Bernard Hopkins went from 160 to 174 of pure muscle in 6 months AND HE IS 41 YEARS OLD!!!!!
So where did you get that nonsense from? And "Especially in the sport of boxing" getting hit in the head doesn't stop you from gaining muscle
Like they say in boxing no matter how much wear and tear is on you, you can always be physically prepared, but mentally not be. So gaining muscle after 30 doesn't have shit to do with if you're a boxer or not
Do you have an article of some sort?Originally Posted by Hous

Real Sports, did a story on Bob Sapp maybe a few years ago. And They talked of his football career the "Whammy in Miami" play in college and his NFL career and quick exit from it and I'm sure if the reason he got kicked out of the NFL was for steroids, then I'm very sure they would have said it. But the reason given that he got kicked out of the NFL was because quite frankly.. in the NFL, he sucked!!!!![]()
Of course if you can put an article up about how he was kicked out because of steroids I will gladly agree with you on that.
doubt it....they may not train like a power lifter but pound for pound they might hold up far better than watching a 300lb man die trying to run a marathon....Originally Posted by Punisher136

as i said before he has a very low body fat percentage thus meaning he is in very good conditionOriginally Posted by THE Bigragu
Mariusz maintains his agility, conditioning, and general physical preparedness through other athletic endeavors. He is an exponent of Kyokushin karate (fourth kyu), which he has been practicing since the age of 11. He was also a competitive boxer for seven years, three of which were spent in the Kosedowski League. Mariusz is a favorite in every strongman competition he enters, having been defeated only twice in Poland through 2002, with his worst placing being a respectable second.
Pudzianowski's father was also a large weightlifter and winner of the Polish weightlifting championship in his youth. When he saw his son's size and potential at a young age, he began to give him advice in weightlifting. This relationship continues today, as Mariusz has revealed that his father continues to coach him in his training.
Unlike some strongmen, Mariusz retains a very low body fat percentage which helps him with his speed and endurance.

Bob Sapp just wasn't any good at Football and steroids in the NFL aren't that big of a deal just because of what type of sport it is.
If Wlad juiced he would have done it as a USSR boxer and not now...the guy is a Doctor, he's very athletic and he has NEVER tested positive for any banned substances as a professional.
Vitali did test positive which is why he wasn't able to do the Olympics in 1996 HOWEVER he denied using steroids knowingly.
Shannon Briggs has never tested positive for steroids that I know of.....I just think he looks too bulky and he doesn't look like he will be able to go 12 rounds. HOWEVER that being said he looked bulky when he fought Lennox Lewis so you never know....maybe his body type allows him to look like that and have good enough stamina to go the distance though he hasn't done so since 2002 where he was as Starr said "severely out of shape"....so who knows.
And Means, Lyakhovich has some class but he despises Wladimir Klitschko and thinks he has been cheated out of several shots at him and they also sparred each other in preparation for I believe the McCline fight though it might have been a different fight.
