Couple surprising things about that, 1) it went to the 12th. 2) and Briggs had something left in the tank to get the KO!!

I was getting ready to comment...until I saw you said EVERYTHING i wanted to say...well almost....

The punch that wobbled Lyakovich didn't look too hard. I think it was total exhaustion that did him in. he fell through the ropes on his own. He had nothing left. Strange since neither fighter threw anything of note through 9 rounds. This was a terrible fight with an exciting enexpected finish. The boos were warranted. Like one of the announcers said " The one guy acts like he's scared and the other guy acts like he's glad of it". Classic line.

Funny really, I mean they didn't do shet! for the entire fight but some how they looked liked they had both fought there hearts out for 11 rds. when in reality they were ball room dancing the whole fight.....

If Sergei was ahead by 4 point going into the 12th (my scoring)
2 knockdowns make it a 10 - 7 round
Sergei has 20 seconds to get back into the ring after being knocked out of the ring!!!!

People outside of the ring hold onto his shoulders and pull him back as he tries to re enter the ring

if he gets back into the ring he wins the fight!!!

the ref can stop a fight without a 10 count or the 20 second count on his discresion if he feels the fighter is "done" but!!!

AFTER the round is over, ie clock is at zero seconds, ref waves his arms to signal that the fight is being stopped by him.

I think that the fight can be contested and sergie declared teh actual winner based on the score cards!!!!

Good clip. The thing is. Sergei would have won a SD if he had stayed up for 1 SECOND longer!!!

Briggs knocked him out with 1 second left. 2:59 of the 12th round.

One of the most dramatic ending to a heavyweight fight I've seen Too bad there weren't 11 rounds of that.

Put the 11 rounds of the Brewster fight, with that ending, and you have a perfect Heavyweight fight

Well now that he's champion, he should carry himself like a champion. I can't believe that he's just 34, I mean Lennox was SUPER when he was 34, Heavyweights at this age are still very competitive and if Shannon can make a turnaround with his weight then, I strongly believe he can be the face of the heavyweight division. Got Lucky tonight but hopefully this is a wake up call

Shannon has asthma and according to him thats what sets him back during his fights, hes said he tires out.

I dont buy the asthma excuse, they have all types of medications for people to take so that they can control it. It is just an excuse to not get into proper cardio condition.

....sounds to me like Briggs was able to carry his power so late because he wasn't pressed to do anything he was being outboxed then he just hit the guy pretty solid and it was enough to end it.

Sergei seemed pretty tired as well
