There's more than one way to skin a cat. Check hook is probably the one thing Garcia does efficiently. Hes throws with with speed and power on the inside. So hes going to look for Tank to lead with his face (which he has done from time to time, inexplicably and got caught) Because tanks a southpaw and garcia is a ortho, the lead foots are going to be matched up on the same side. Which makes distance a factor and probably gives Garcia an edge while they're both fresh due, to his height. It could be a short night if tank gets caught over extended or jumping in without a set up.
Tank needs to keep Garcia off balance, Jabs and shots to the body. Mix it up to the body and head. Keep his hands tight. In most instances its in a fighters best interest to circle away from the power hand. If tanks been working on his head movement, hes decent at slipping under shots, he can circle the other way briefly. He also switches up sometimes and that can be used to confuse Garcia. If tank is sharp, While circling towards garcias right, he can feint garcia to get Garcia to throw that check hook potshot and take his elbow away from his side, exposing Garcias liver to Tanks counter with his power hand. It might be worth it to work the body and throw on the belt and soften garcia, take away his movement and keep his elbows in as he has a bad habit of hanging his chin in the air and closing his eyes on those hooks. Start low, go high..
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Oddly been below the radar leading into this though it is a very key and overdue match up. I think part of it is I haven't "paid" to see Tank fight since the Santa Cruz quality ko and Ryan honestly has not been overly memorable for two+ years now imo with the Campbell fight. Different avenues to making this one as it was largely in social media beefs and fandom clicking along for the ride. Both not exactly set to a major build with fan and fight accessibility. People are actually using Tank in the same sentence with Mayweather off a win. And while either winner gets massive boost and I can't stand Mayweather...that's just insane with the comparison. Now as far as buzz, hype trains and admittedly the man can draw a crowd. But accomplishment wise though its literally night and day. But here we are and it's a quality face off, winner should be right in line for Haney-Loma winner in we're fortunate. Ryan is dangerous from the first bell but at the tend of the day I'm not convinced he has the full depth and respect for his own defense to come out a W. Defensive lapses and that frustrating stiff neck/head he keeps in place. He is a pretty tightly wound guy, nerves. Can see scenario with him ahead being mindful and actually exploiting range-size-speed difference very well mid-late but cannot get away from Tank catching up at some point for tko. Going to be very interesting style wise.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
So the venue they did the weigh in was packed, seems this unfortunately will be quite a success. This will reinforce that you don’t need to fight the best to build stars.
Been on boxing message boards talking about boxing’s downfall for like 20 years and it’s clear they are never going to fix it. We’re stuck to talk about the Welterweights of the 80s, the heavyweights of the 70s. We have had so many times where a division is briefly stacked and all they had to do was fight, win or lose they would elevate to greatness. And here we are, Teo has already left the division, Loma refused Mickey and is aging out, Tank won’t fight the top guys. Had a shot at a great little era and so quickly it’s nearly gone. As have so many other chances at great little eras
Or Ryan is far better than his feet, his poor foot placement, his seeming ability to only move in direct lines and his chin in the air suggest and this post is stupid

Boxing loses no matter who wins. Especially when both insist THEY will be the face of boxing should they win tonight. Ridiculous. Especially coming from Ryan. Again... if I'm stuck rooting for one of them, I guess I'll pick Davis... 'cause I can't stomach what the Instagram King stands for.
