Wasn’t it ?? man I would rather take a full frontal beating then sit trough another night of these type fights. . the only exciting fight out of all the fights last night ,was the heavyweight fight on the Mayweather under card. that was a decent scrap between 2 guys that wanted to win in a big way, they were a little green, but they never held once.. Not one clinch I can recall and they both kept the combinations coming .. Other than that its was a stale night. of boxing . With lots of awkward match-ups and little desire in the hearts of the major combatants.Originally Posted by Violent Demise
No doubt a boring fight and not worthy of any championship...but If Briggs did nothing who was hitting Sergei? Liakhovich's head looked like he was beaten with a club!!! take a look welts on his head and two black eyes somebody was hitting him so give Shannon some due...
To the poster that said the asthma was an excuse and there are meds for it, true... though most would have him DQ's because they are banned as performance enhancing...while I'm not sure what kind of Asthma Shannon has (excercise induced or allergy induced) it's pretty obvious to see that Shannon was gasping for air, just a look at his heaving chest...no matter how tired someone is they should still be able to breathe without gasping like that...besides his asthma is well documented back to his childhood so it's not an excuse...although losing weight is known to help asthma sufferers...
Although the only one of the fights that I saw on the Sky Sports bill was the Mayweather fight, I agree it wasn't a riproaring watch, but Mayweather's defensive style and ability to avoid being hit and counter well might hold him in good stead in getting up the p4p rankings, if he is not already at the top, but it doesn't make him a fantastic fighter to watch, which, at the end of the day is what fans want more than seeing an unbeatable fighter.Originally Posted by Lords Gym
Shannon Briggs must hit the way he looks, because he didn't hit Lyavitch with much, but he certainly did a lot of damage. Briggs is built like a brick shithouse. He must be eating his wheaties.

The counter left hooks and the jabs. Even though the fight wasn't exciting, Briggs still did damage and was hitting Sergei. Just because it wasnt exciting doesn;t mean there wasn't damage being done.Originally Posted by The Promoter

Did anyone else notice how the clock stopped at the 26th second?![]()
Seriously.
Was there a press conference? I dvr'd it and it ended before the interviews. I just saw Briggs sitting in his corner trying to breathe, and Sergei sitting on the table trying to get back in the ring.
Anything significant come out of the press conference? Did Sergei say that Briggs hit hard and hurt him with everything? Out of shape? Anyone with a link post it please.
