Loma will have to work on Haney body early to see if the weight draining has had an effect on him. Loma needs to be active and can not afford to give rounds away either.

Not wishing to diss the incredible skills of Loma, I think he’s a bit long in the tooth and Haney will be skilful enough to use his undoubted size and age advantages IMO.
I get that Haney might have rehydration issues, but he’s a seriou professional guy so I think he might have it covered.
I like both Boxers and respect that the fight is even happening. Very refreshing in this day and age .

"I believe that when you say something, you need to prove it," Lomachenko said.

"I have a lot of experience in boxing, and anything can happen during a fight.

"I just think about what I need to do during a fight - and my goal is to become the undisputed champion of the world.

"It will be very, very interesting. We have two different styles."

the weigh in is said to be at nine am. that's a big advantage for devin, gives him roughly thirty six hours before the fight

What's the time for weigh ins usually? You'd figure there has to be a set time per location, unless they load a stipulation in the contract maybe. So Loma will be up vs a CW jr middleweight.

In my experience covering them, Weigh-ins are nearly always the late afternoon or evening before a fight 4-6pm here in the UK, to try and be close to 24hrs as possible whilst feeding the news cycle. No standard though as far as I can tell between shows, belt organisations, countries or even commissions. Haney is already huge and I can see him missing weight if he steps on the scales that early.

Needs common sense and stricter weight windows. Morning of fight or 12 hr would limit bulking up by the naturally bigger fighter skewing it so much. It's not right but as much as I loved him we have to admit as Brit fans Hatton built a career around it. Well that and a whole lot of desire, intensity, viciousness, skills and a willingness to walk through walls.

“After the Lopez loss, I could have gone down (in weight) and fight,” Lomachenko said during the first part of ESPN’s Blood, Sweat & Tears: Haney vs. Lomachenko.

“But I can’t because I lose at lightweight. Lightweight took my dream, took my goal. I can’t change.

“For me, it looks like you’re weak.

"I still have my speed, my power, my conditioning. I was very close with this goal. Now I have a second chance. But I have a second chance with a different man.”
