Jesus they are really chargin $45 for this fight? I really really do hope Holyfield pulls it off. He looked good against a super stationary opponent who reminded me of Joe Louis' old "Bum-of-the-Month Club". But really I havent seen the old Holyfield in years. Not since he fought Rahman way back when and Hasim grew a siamese twin on his head in the middle of the fight. James Toney beat the crap out of him. I knew it was time to retire after that fight. Not just because Toney KOed him for the first time ever, but because afterwards in the post fight interview Holy used the word, "abba-dooba-dabba" in a sentence! Needless to say "abba-dooba-dabba" is not a word you find in Websters. It is not a new type of boxing slang for "man i got whupped on". It is painful evidence that maybe it is time for this great former champion to hang up the gloves. That Larry Donald fight was really sad. I'm so pullin for him, but it's a real long shot for The Real Deal pulling this off. Fres Oquendo isnt too well known, but he is leaps and bounds better than Jeremy Bates or Larry Donald. Hopefully if Evander loses he will step down and retire. At least he did appear to speak more coherently after his last win...maybe that's a good sign too. But whoever posted about how he looked like he was slow setting his punches and getting off in the Bates fight was absolutely right. Against a good opponent he would get disrupted and beat to the punch all night. Kinda like against Larry Donald except he isnt a good opponent.
