So you start Boxing, learn your technique get fit, the coach gets you sparring and you get bashed up. You keep plugging away and start holding your own. At what time do you think Im starting to enjoy this, I could be good

I enjoyed it the moment I stepped in the gym as a lil kid. The first time I realised I wouldnt leave was after my first proper full on training session. I was absolutely shattered, had been taken on the pads by one of the better pad men of the last god knows how many years and ready to collapse....
..... but for some reason I had never felt better, been at my gym ever since.
Same as cobra me.
Wat exactly are you asking scrap? do you not enjoy training?
Scrap is the laziest person in the world... all Scrap enjoys deliberatly not training... He was once KO'd be a double end bag and has never been the same since![]()
just started a thread asking the time when you finally new that boxing was for you as a sport even if youd had it hard at the start. Some take their time getting into it others its a slow process. I dont train anymore I watch others I observe I should have been head of theC I D but I became a coach instead taking people to the seaside my nickname is Deisel. I do 30 mpg and Im reliable, and always look on the bright side of life and remember if it wasnt for venetian blinds it would be curtains for us all I thank you

Lol. Well i started really enjoying it about two months in.
I just found myself getting very excited going boxing, then i would manoevuer other life things just so i could go boxing. I did weights less so my training was exclusively boxing.
Okay have a cc

I first went boxing when i was in my early teens ignorant and full of myself...
having been going to the gym for a while the arrogance just left me.. i had trouble sparring because of fear and to be honest i didnt really understand what boxing was all about .. i didnt get any real training and i didnt follow boxing a great deal i only had one or two guys that i would watch and although i always enjoyed going boxing it hasnt been until for about the last two years its just blown up on me and taken my life over , i appreciate it for everything i can do in there and everything that i watch on telly and read about on tinternet..lol
i dont think i really enjoyed boxing until i felt comfotable sparring, think that was the thing.. because the way i learnt properly how to box was i immitaded what i saw my favourite fighters do and i had alot of sparring and i saw what i could pull off.. and alot of the time what should be left to proffesionals lol..
no bolo punches for menot then anyway...
and when i felt comfortable and capable of boxing a lick.. thats when i completely committed to my punches instead of fighting like beginers do... i think you enjoy something you understand and are somewhat good at more then if you were no good and you were just boxing without bieng a boxing fan!
.... random kinda story thing ....

I knew boxing was for me when I beat the shit out of my wife way easier than I ever had before. She don't talk back no more. And my meals are on the table when I get home.
In a morning the first thing I do is punch the bag . Then she gets up and makes the tea.

The instant that realised I was enjoying getting my technique right, and that I was smoother than my sparring partner - instead of just trying to hit him in the face as hard as I could.
That was a bit of a life changing moment for me !!
