Andy Ruiz in shape’ish and in training. Says he’s ready to come in for trilogy . Interesting time for AJ now.

From a boxing point of view , I feel for Joshua. No doubt they could give him a good contest. You’ve got Hrgovic, McKean, Washington, Ruiz. At short notice they’re some pretty good options.
But it’s difficult when he’s been focussing on Whyte despite the fact that some of these are probably better Whyte.
Whoever he fights is gonna be way more motivated . Remember when he fought Takam at late notice?
As for Whyte, if he don’t get a life ban after getting caught for the THIRD TIME, they might as well stop drug testing!
He can’t use the “unintentional” Shtick. If you’ve been done twice before , you should be super cautious I’m afraid.

I've not been following closely. Is this thing off or is a substitute going to be brought in.

ANTHONY JOSHUA will learn the identity of his new short-notice opponent later today.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has worked frantically over the weekend to try and secure a replacement for Whyte.

American Gerald Washington is the current frontrunner to win the lucrative AJ sweepstakes.

Washington, 41, was scheduled to throw down with Chisora on the undercard of the show and would be the ideal replacement.

The Yank's height and ranginess would be ideal for Joshua to prepare for his long-overdue grudge match with Deontay Wilder.

Washington is a member of Team Wilder and trains with Bronze Bomber's head coach Malik Scott.

He won't pick Hrgovic, too dangerous. He may go for McKean or Washington because they are easier to beat. I don't even think AJ wants to chance a 3rd fight with Ruiz... lolol...
