Fight stopped in the 8th because of a cut due to a clash of heads. Goes to the cards. I reckon Baluta was ahead , but they’ll give it to McCann on the cards.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a rematch.

Majority draw. 2 cards gave it 86-86 , one gave it to McCann 86-85. Not sure I saw it like that, but I wouldn’t argue with it, could’ve been anything.

That was a small ring which flavoured Baluta
Small hall was good atmosphere.
McCaan did show his skills.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Baluta is very annoyed that he did not get the win and believes the corner of McCaan stopped the fight. So he should get the victory.
Baluta promises he will get the knockout in the rematch.

To be honest, I expected Baluta to win, I thought he shaded it, but in a rematch I expect McCann to improve and win.
Baluta is great value for money to watch and will give anyone a tough fight. But I doubt there is much adjustment or improvement in him.
Whereas McCann and his team should learn a lot from that fight and be able to make the adjustments needed to nullify Baluta’s “bull coming forward” style.
The jab will be the key, keep him at bay and throw combinations and then step out of the zone.
Baluta has never heard of a jab , he leads with power hooks.
Great to watch and York Hall added to it because the atmosphere looked fantastic .
Hopefully they’ll get a purse increase in the rematch because that will have generated a lot more interest.
