Benn's the hardest-hitting middleweight ever, as well as the most ferocious fighter ever, and had more snap in his punches than the Sibson's and Mugabi's and threw shots from more angles.. Hagler himself said Benn would be his toughest fight if he hadn't retired!

Benn and Hagler would of been great while it lasted, but Benn's shaky chin would of let him down.
benn didnt hit as hard as hearns or jackson or gerald
Benn hit harder than all of them at 160, there's no question about that. Just watch him! Lol.

Hearns and Jackson were better KO artists, not harder punchers.

    McClellan had very heavy hands.

When Benn was a middle weight he was an all out slugger.Fighting like this would make it an easy nights work for Hagler.

Hagler could box or slug, ether way he would win.

Benn was 1 of the best British fighters of all time,Hagler is one of the worlds greatest of all time.

Nobody in their right mind would suggest Benn in his prime, of all people, is an easy nights work for ANYBODY.

    That's ludicrous.

i think if hagler stood up to the likes of john mugabi who was a murderous one punch hitter then i think he would stand up to the likes of jackson and benns hitting. benn at middleweight though would have been a great fight with hagler winning on a late stoppage

Tommy Hearns at 154 or at 160 or at 168....he boxed well, he had good straight punches and he cracked.

Marvin Hagler at 160 better chin, threw more punches, and accumulated power punching....he didn't have the 1 punch power but 4-5-6 shots would hurt someone

but honestly James Toney would EAT NIGEL BENN ALIVE......(literally and figuratively) Benn throws a bit too wide and Toney would have blasted him especially at 168.

....oh Ray Leonard and Ray Robinson would have fun whippin Benn too

I think RJJ would have beat him too but I'll leave that alone since you Brits get all up in arms when someone says RJJ would beat: Eubank, Benn, Calzaghe......Ricky Hatton.......Alan Minter.......Tony Blair etc

Anybody who went in with a prime Nigel Benn with an orthodox defense and without a chin of granite would of been knocked out, unless they knocked him out before he knocked them out. Simple as that.

Michael Watson beat him because he opened his gloves and cupped both sides of his forehead, dipped in with those elbows to protect himself from bodyshots and remained upright and very close to Benn to not allow him the full leverage he liked. Watson's tactics were outstandingly brilliant that night, Benn's were unbelievably stupid (punching himself out on Watson's arms and gloves to the point where he would hit the canvas from a jab). Eubank beat him because his chin was made from a piece of granite.

Having taken Nige on the pads afew times hes not the greatest of punchers but fast and single minded. The guy who said about Mugabi I saw him drop world class heavys in sparring he could really hit and I mean HIT
