They have been playing Brock-McCline on ESPN Classic all week and in that fight there are plenty of things we can take away from it.
#1 Calvin is a fast, talented fighter with good technique
#2 Calvin jabs sideways every now and then, especially when trying to go to the body. BAD NEWS when you consider his head is in perfect range for the right cross.
#3 Jameel McCline got in too close and smothered himself but at the same time the smaller Brock kept in good range and this is why Jameel got caught so often.
I think Calvin would be able to put up a good fight if his chin was better but honestly this fight doesn't bode well for him.
Wlad is the first true POWER PUNCHER Calvin has fought
Calvin is not faster or stronger than Wlad
To win, Brock is going to have to really be on his A game....Wlad just has to not have an off night to win
brocks best punch is slower, weaker, and far more random then what it will take to hurt big vladdy![]()
If you look at the guys who have dropped Wlad then you'll realize his chin ain't that bad.
Brewster (don't know if I would call it a knockdown but he was getting beat up pretty bad)
Sanders
Peter (eventhough 2 were rabbit punches)
Williamson (eventhough he was off balance anyways)
He got back up after all of them
I have never been wrong. But on the other hand I only predict when i feel justified; I had Maskaev by KO and I had Valuev by KO. But thats just because Ive seen those guys more than most.Originally Posted by NuthaPug

Wlad by ko rd 4-6
quick poll...
who is more gay
the flash or aqua man?
The first Sanders knockdown wasn't a quick get up. It was about the count of 7 or 8?Originally Posted by Lyle

That fight was a debacle for Wlad. I think the Peter fight helped him get past it somewhat, but any time he gets a solid chin check, I find myself thinking that it's all over.
Brock has enough power to test Wlad's chin (stamina, whatever...I still think it's that he gets hit on the chin, it goes to his head and turns off his legs), but Brock doesn't have Peter's chin. He's gonna have to fight really, really smart to withstand Wlad's offense and find his opening.
Or he could just get lucky.
I still think Wlad takes this one, through superior boxing skill and power.
Oh yeah... CC's on this thread - good discussion!
Majesty....he beat the 10 count. Also it wasn't the first shot that took him down either, he took a couple good thumps from that Left Cross of Sanders. I never said he wasn't hurt by Sanders but you could tell he didn't know what to do afterwards
Aqua Man....living in the ocean with fish and dolphins and whales.....totally gayOriginally Posted by SalTheButcher
Also Brock is no Corey Sanders and Corey Sanders was bad for a lot of guys, a lefty with a quick cross that packs that much power, had he properly trained for his whole career he would have been very very good
The odds in USA Today are 4 to 1. Id say they should be more like 10 to 1.
I think that Wlad's holding is a way to prevent that from happening. I still don't think its out of his head. But a ref needs to stop it. Because you can't intentionally grab a fighter away frm you by his arms and hold on till the ref breaks you just to prevent them from punching. I think thats illegal isn't it?Originally Posted by bcollins
I like SH but that holding annoys the hell out of me.
