Incredible fight.
Two limited guys going at it, fighting to the point of exhaustion, fighting on will and instincts. Both of them left a sizable chunk of their health in that ring. Are they future world champions ? No. But they made it to the hallowed halls of Valhalla, and not all boxers do. The Babylonians once believed man was created from the essence of divine energy, mana, blood or in some cases a strong breath from a powerful deity. These gladiators surely understand on a subconscious level that what they do may someday cause them great harm.
I was so absorbed by it I completely forgot about scoring it.
But Wardley gets killed at world level, blocking punches with your face is a seriously hard way to try and win a fight. This fight really exposed his lack of fundamental boxing skills. Clarke was much the better boxer and he has a good poker face as he hid how tired he was. I thought a draw was the right result at the end and the rematch is the safest credible fight each can take but after that I'd be surprised if either fights again this year
People in the UK should appreciate Joshua and Fury while they are around. It's going to be a big drop down when those two are retired in a couple of years, only Moses Itauma has any real prospects out of UK heavyweights and he needs a lot of work still and has a lot of unanswered questions yet, so he's not a sure bet.
