Random and it seems to have had little reaction, but Benevidez recently said that Turki aka the Saudi bankroll had mentioned a possible Aug Crawford match and proposed it to David...if he could make 160. No such request when wanting Bud v Canelo though. And unless I've missed it no one is disputing it? Now with Ortiz v Tszyu on the undercard of Crawford v Madrimov and two belts on the line we may very well see winners meet up!

Not really followed this guy much but just checked his record. One fight a year since 2019. Wow. But maybe that's typical these days and going to be the norm.

This is the negative side of the Saudi influence in Boxing. I don’t particularly think Türki is learning the shifty side. I just think that:
1. He’s showing his ignorance and lack of actual knowledge about the sport and its participants. Benavidez hasn’t weighed 160lb since he was 11 years old. When he was a teenager, before he got into boxing, he weighed 250lbs . So how realistic is 160lb ?
2. He believes money can buy anything. And he is not dissuaded from that attitude because it is all the promoters care about, they have proved that already. It’s pathetic. I reckon Eddie would give Frank a BJ if Turki threw £20 mill his way. So if Turki wants Crawford v Benavidez at 160, them cunts ain’t never gonna say “nah, impossible.”
I just worry about what happens when Turki gets bored of this little toy he’s playing with.

When Turki gets bored Warren/Eddie will go back to hating, despising and not working with one another.

Agreed, the majority are so busy sighting "saviors" but there's a slow creep side to this instant and bottomless spending spree too. The fact he's glad handing the heads of the alphabet soup groups but still proposing some real nonstarters without being informed. Like they are just letting him throw anything at the wall to see what sticks. Playing him to a degree. I hate the term but sorta comes off as a huge casual. Fury talking about 10 fight deals and being the first billionaire ffs. And just yesterday Turki puts out Wilder will aim to fight Jared Anderson on the same Aug 3rd card. Sure, your first reaction to "big" names is wow alright, let's do it. But we're not looking at the realities of these fights and the fact that fighters who take it seriously put their bodies thru hell for peak performance. I'll go out on a limb and say there is zero chance Wilder fights Zhang (win/lose/whatever) and then turns around in 2 months for another big fight like that. Fighters will always jump at blinding money but all the cash in the world cannot erase damage and years. Just how smart is that? This instant lotto "saving boxing" has a shelf life in that it's not exactly 6 feet deep. Giving Jarrell Miller an instant million dollar turn around id not "saving boxing". Not only do top fighters run risk of developing this lotto expectation every time out but likewise the promoters who have worked together only under a hefty pre-paid price tag here. Find the middle ground, invest in some lighter divisions...big fights are awesome but they also used to be pretty common.
