Forget what I said about Saka. Once again, Bellingham aside he's our best weapon. I want Foden to do well but it's not really happening for him.

I haven't watched a full game for I don't know how many years but I got a lovely rosy nostalgic feeling seeing that the Scotch got absolutely thumped by the Germans. I've even bothered to look up the qualifying system from the groups and am really hoping they don't even manage to qualify. Big game coming up against Switzerland. I might even watch it.

England don't seem anything outside of Bellingham. I only saw some highlights but they don't seem like they've got a chance of winning. Foden is yet another player who looks really good at domestic level but then becomes anonymous at international level. Maybe I should actually watch the fucker play for two minutes or be able to pick him out of a lineup before I make a judgement like that but it just fits in with the endless list of these fuckers over the years.

That was a very nervous display.

I can understand now why Foden may not fit into the system which is ridiculous.

I'll take a mediocre performance first game up so long as there's three points on the board. We don't generally win openers.

Bellingham good. Saka, good, Rice, good. Guehi, good. Pickford, again didn't let England down.

Trent was sloppy throughout. Gave the ball away too easily. Kane barely had a kick. Foden looked like he was coming alive a bit in the second half, but then we became passive. I don't understand how he can't impose himself on the game more. He was free to roam where he wanted. He doesn't have to set the World alight with every pass. But demand the ball, progress the play. He's a good footballer, World class. If he gets on the ball 10 times, 8/9 times he's going to do something good. But he's largely anonymous. Really disappointed.

All that said. I'm not sure if I'd feel more or less comfortable if we looked a million dollars and put them to the sword first game up.

Three points on the board and a clean sheet. I'll take it.

We can build on this but foden a concern. Maybe Gordon will get a shot on the left next game.

Kane had one good chance and should have scored but he'll come good I'm sure.

Portugal won the euros with six draws and one win (won 3 games on penalties and extra time goals)

France got by Austria, but got brutalized in the process. Mbappe may have suffered a broken nose, and Griezmann got slammed against the boards. Curiously it was by the guy who allowed the OG to lose the game for Austria.
France looked like a walking M.A.S.H. unit by the end of the game.

Not gonna lie. Loving Germany nicking the Bulls player intro.

Croatia Albania was a cracking game.
