Chris Eubank Jr could be set to receive a stunning title shot against Canelo Alvarez.

Reports have indicated that Eubank Jr is in shock pole-position to land a shot against undisputed 168lbs champion Alvarez.

Reports from ESPN reporter Salvador Rodriguez claim that negotiations are already underway, and he is the primary option ahead of potential rivals Edgar Berlanga and Jermall Charlo.

It was expected that Alvarez will return on September 14 as traditional on the Mexican Independence Day weekend.

But this could now be pushed back as to not clash with UFC's plotted show in new Las Vegas venue The Sphere, which is being targeted for September 14 by Dana White.

I was hoping for Conor Benn. But not sure he can even fight in his own country again? I mean, not like divisions factor in, right? Historic name background, bit of a heel factor to build the conquering explorer and world traveler Canelo up. Exciting style and if they happen to form a bond of some sort perhaps they can share fine dining recipes for steak & eggs dishes served in a lab Petri dish . It's actually sad Canelo/boxing lost the Mexican Independence Day date that has become a staple. Ironically to the new ufc debut venture with Turki and Riyadh season. I wouldn't expect Canelo to fight on the date again.

Crap fight, but I vote for it for selfish reasons.

I heard about this possibility the other day , it would be a kick in the bollocks for the U.K. promoters.
Eubank isn’t the name he once was at World level .This could be a stretch even for Canelo’s marketing team to sell and justify this.
We’ll see.

Update! Looks like he’s signed with Boxxer (Ben Shalom) and that means , if it happens, Sky would take this fight in the U.K. naturally on Box office.
