Im fwoking gald he did though... What a match up, maybe not such a great fight but the potential match up has got my predictive juices on over flow!!!!

Okay, allow me to compose myself for a second

I’m not too sure about Oscars form, i mean he looked good against Mayorga but then again, so did Tito
No offence to Tito fans intended.

That being said, i cant help but feel that this is far too big a challenge for Floyd... Literaly.

I mean, Floyd was on his skates against a slow punching, short genuine Welterweighter...
What can he possibly do against a consummate, tall, well rounded LightMiddler?

Dont get me wrong, he's tactics were spot on against Baldy but that was Baldy... I was never one to sing Baldy's praises... His wins only proved two things... Gatti WAS washed up and Juda is on the slide after round 6.

Anyway back to Floyd v Oscar....
Floyd no doubt proved that his defence is the best out there, on par with Pernell IMO (Better in some ways) and I still think Floyd is virtually Left Hook proof. But that straight right is starting to land a bit and I’m assuming (not hoping!) that Floyd, for all the punches he has dodged, doesn’t have the whiskers to take a few good ODH Right handers.
Although, I would love to see Floyd actually take a full-blooded whack, and take it).
Obviously, it will be ODH’s game plan to stay on top of PBF and throw a ton of punches.

A high work rate and close proximity combat is a must. (Maybe that’s why ODH is taking a long time to prepare... Expect ODH to set up camp EARLY!)

Stamina is the first issue I have with Oscar, second is his Desire... Does he still have that burning heart of a TRUE champion? I dunno, against Mayorga, we wasn’t really given the chance...
Against Bernard? Well, its questionable at least.

For me, its a case of how will Oscar perform, all the variables lay on ODH’s tactics and condition as we all know Floyd is an absolute consummate professional and will enter the ring as he has done the fight before... Perfectly prepared.

Floyd’s wins... The ones that go 12 rounds anyway... Are based on building a healthy lead, and sustaining it.
Castillo, Juda and IMO Baldomir had their own successes early on at pressing Floyd and upsetting his rhythm. With that being said, there’s no reason why Oscar couldn’t do the same over 12 rounds...

If camp goes well for Oscar, I assume he has a damn good crack Hurting Floyd or outgunning him on route to a UD/SD/MD.

Of course I’m open to a calculated opinion
CC for the thoughtful comments and the Borat reference in your sig

I think it was very clever of Oscar to make Floyd jump up to 154 with a 6mth layoff so he doesn't risk getting injured by staying active and fighting in Feb. :P

Tell you what...It wouldnt suprise me if Floyd came in as a Welterweight or Below 150 at least.....Floyd will want to maximize his speed and reflex advantage...Oscar will be having a hard time keeping up with Floyd

From what I can see most boxers when they move up love the idea of bulking up their muscle mass, I think Floyd's ego is know exception. If he jumps on the juice then look out Oscar!!

Now I'm not sure why most think Oscar has to try and keep up with Floyd? I know it seems like the way to beat him is to apply the pressure and cut off the ring but here is another scenario..

what if Oscar sat back behind his own jab and when Floyd came in Oscar swarmed him with hooks, rips, overhand rights and then moved back with the jab. Why must Floyd control the distance? I don't think he is quick enough to pot shot Oscar like he did Baldomir and not pay for it.

Bottom line is I don't think Floyd will fight aggressive enough to win this fight and not get KTFO.

Oscar is no fool you think he'd agree to a 500 X 500 ring I doubt it....it'll be a little smaller....not extremely small but JUST a little bit smaller.

Oscar IS a promoter you know....he has tricks up his sleeve

    Thats a very good point

Oscar sat back a bit more in his second Mosley fight and showed more lateral movement. He found a bit more success because i suppose it drew his man in and made him more predictable. Also, you have to give Oscar credit for the fact that he can work the body very well in close, with those ripping hooks.

So yeah, he is capable of implementing a strategy to controll his fighter... But he, like B-Hop, cant expect sustained success in controlling his man, if your man is faster AND fitter than you.

Plus Floyd wont gas in the later rounds (Thats for the Taylor - Hopkins criticts ).

Hence, the problem with sitting back is that Floyd will always have his own movement to trouble Oscar.
And lets be honest, Floyds right hand can land from just about anywhere.
Floyd throwns his right better than most boxing greats threw their jabs!
If and when Oscar sits back, expect Floyd to score points continously (ala Baldomir, Juda, Gatti, N'dou, Castillo, Corley etc... )

Although... With that being said, i do agree that early on Oscar could suprise Floyd with this tactic but i belive after a few rounds Floyd will begin to Frustrate Oscar with "the fencing thing".

Personally, i think an amazing punch count... Sheer numbers are needed to beat Floyd. Anything else can be adapted to.

I guess the only other way i can see Oscar winning is by greatly varying his approach. One minute dis intrested, next minute right on top of Floyd. This would be effective as far as the judges are concerned as it would give the illusion of dictating the action.

ok my question is Does Mayweather Sr. train DLH if so how much does the change the senario since Mayweather SR taught Mayweather Jr. everything he knows... So what i am asking even though Mayweather gets the edge on agilitly and speed how much of a chance giving that he might be taught some tricks getting into his defense and he has a ko punch so how would this change the chance of who the winner can be?

Thats exactly how I feel and I believe it is how he will get the ko Oscar has shown just as much ability to successfully adapt to different style as lil'Floyd has. I don't think its a great style matchup and looks to be a boring fight but I' am really looking forward to it! Lets hope Oscar doesn't get injured in training.

Oscar allowing Floyd to come to him is a brilliant idea in theory but when you are in the ring, and the other guy is not doing much(ie Floyd),Oscar would probably just come forward...I just think it would be a natural reaction although I hope I'm wrong,PBF,on the front foot against Oscar at 154 with Reyes gloves makes me want to see that left hook!!!!!!!!!!
