I wouldn't say he was overhyped at all. If anything he went what is no longer a common and expected route. Lean into new exposure and peruse the very best, get the fights Charlo and Ortiz and then have them fall out for whatever reason and face all comers in the meantime. That's literally what they did with couch-slouch Chavez Jr, milked that name dry like the last heffer on the dairy farm.
