When did Hatton play soccer at a high level?
Did he have a kick about on holiday in Peru or something?

He played for City till about 16 i think, he then had to choose.

    Or was that a dream??

No that was it he was pretty handy at table fotty, the speed in which he could down a pint when he heard " your on Rick!!" was unbelievable.

That must be where the speed references come from

Wheres this myth that all sprinters are big body building type guys??

Jason Gardner for GB he weighs in about 11 stone. It depends, what about the 400 metre runner whats his name?? Warriner i think, i remember watching Micheal Johnson say this kid can do the 100 metres in 10.20, he looks about 10 stone piss wet through.

It's not really a myth.I suppose a lot of sportsmen can do a sub 11 sec 100meters (thinking about footballers, tennis players etc) but to be a top class sprinter and crack that 10 second barrier you need the upper body strenght to power your way forward. It's the difference between a good sprinter and a top class sprinter.

Just happened to be watching ESPN Classic and they were showing a re-run of Superstars. Alan Minter won the pistol shooting but came last in the 100 metres by a long long way. Just in case anyone thought he might be nippy.
