Ben is still a novice in the game and 10 rounds is sensible for him at this stage. No need to make an issue of it but it sells the fight as people are talking about it.

Cameron, who boasts 23 wins from his 31 scraps in the paid ranks, responded: "They paid me an absolute fortune.

"He could have called my bluff. I could have been wanting to do the ten all this time.

"I dreamed for these moments. How can I complain? I'm here, I'm ready, I'm in much better shape [than the first fight].

"Let the games begin in the ring now. I've given myself the best opportunity.

"I've put myself in a frame of mind, a mental state, where I'll be scared.

"I'll be that scared dog in the changing room and that brings the best out of me. It's been magical and we're going to put on a big show."

"Last night I got told it was eight," Whittaker joked. "It's an eight rounder if I'm honest.

"I don't know what the rounds are. Seriously though we've worked really hard.

"We've done so many rounds and we'll see."

excuses. sounds like you & benny both don't want twelve rounds. there was an issue, liam had a contract for twelve rounds. i can't emphasis how stupid a mistake that is from boxxer. it looks even worse that they had to pay liam to accept ten rounds instead of stepping up & fighting over twelve, especially after quitting in the first fight. whatever happens from here it will always be known that benny didn't fancy the fight over twelve

It really is not a big issue that people are making about going 12 rounds. Ben is only 9 fights into his career. The championship rounds can wait. Ben is with Andy Lee and needs time to work with him and grow.

You really don’t get it do you? The issue isn’t whether or not he could or should do 12 rounds.
The issue is why his side , whether him, whether the promotion team, whatever, kicked up such a big deal about it that they had to pay “an absolute fortune” to quote Cameron to correct it.
The stupid thing is , if Shalom had said “fair enough, 12 it is.” Common sense would have prevailed without the drama.
    Not a good look.

The only person making an issue of it is Cameron. It was an error by the promoter and he has paid up. Even if Ben said ok with the 12, Cameron would still have said look what we have forced them to do.

It really is a non issue.

    1. I think team Cameron were justified to make an issue of it, they made good dollar out of it.
    2. If Shalom had said ok with the 12, nobody would’ve give a fuck what Cameron said. Same as nobody gave a fuck when Whittaker kept Cameron waiting at the weigh in because he needed a shit.
    3. It’s only an issue because of how team Whittaker dealt with it.

Tyler Denny wins on points quite easily. He is a true Brummie with that accent. His opponent Elvis is quite a character.
