The way Mayweather dogged him in their fight tarnished the little respect I had for Gatti as a fighter. That beating made him look like the B class fighter he was and we all knew it.

Loved watching Gatti come up early on the USA network...man we're missing that weekly consistency so much. He didn't have it handed to him early career and was just a year out from crashing the scene and making it his first 'big' fight with Patterson I. People forget at least with Patterson he showed his boxing chops, it wasn't all just brawling for the homerun bricks.

Yeh at that point and weight he did not belong near the ring with Mayweather but a belt ($$) and 'name' opens doors maybe we shouldn't go thru at times. I've always thought of that one similar to a Jones Jr v Pazienza in a way. But fair is to take account of where a guy's career actually is opposed to where they came up from and accomplished getting there. But Kellerman was right about this one.
