Hamzah Sheeraz v Edgar Berlanga

Hamzah Sheeraz will take on Edgar Berlanga on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at Louis Armstrong Stadium, Queens. The fight will be contested over 12 rounds in the Middleweight division.

In his last fight, Sheeraz was fortunate to draw Carlos Adames on February 22, 2025, by split draw in their 12 round contest in their WBC World Middleweight championship fight at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

At first I thought Berlanga was getting the best of Hamzah at the earlier press confreneces but from this face off I think Sheeraz will win.

Welp, thought about it but got home after the card start and just decided against it. Found a decent stream but it went tits up now. Firestick ? may be another step down the road. Sounds like Morrell got a gift in an entertaining scrap but how khataev was even allowed to fight after popping dirty and under suspension by one org is beyond me. But hey, hooray boxing. Weird nowadays, feels like boxing has somehow gone back into a form of isolation now with zero network coverage. We all watch alone and catch up later. Pretty sure they'll replay card tomorrow or Monday on the ol youtube. Fun times.

Meanwhile, I'm impressed with Sheeraz's ability to turn it up and exert himself at a moment's notice. Every time he clipped Berlanga he put a little more on the follow up four or five shots. You have to be hungry to do that in a fight. That is something your coach tells you what to do, but it is not something that you can be trained to do.

Missed the fight but absolutely great result when I found out Sheeraz won in comprehensive fashion. Berlanga behaved like a bully and was glad to see him humbled in a brutal way.
