Dana White is the promoter and not on DAZN? Very peculiar.

I said the same thing when I saw that too. Very peculiar indeed.

The pre fight hype has started.

Canelo wants Turki to ensure there is a small ring. Crawford said he would not run.

    Canelo pushes Crawford.

Turki Alalshikh is hoping to stage Jared Anderson vs Jarrell Miller on the Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford undercard.

I really don’t understand why everyone feels the need to give Miller paydays? It’s one of the ugliest things about the sport.

The closer this fight is coming the more excited I am becoming about it.

I realise it is a manufactured fight and there is no real big urge or need for it aside from a rich billionaire boxing fan, but he could do worse with his money.

This is all about securing Terrence Crawford’s legacy. Nothing for Canelo who is expected to win as the bigger stronger and more well-known star of the sport.

Crawford looks supremely confident in his own casual and reassured way. His answers to questions seem genuine and not contrived.

I became a fan of Crawford slowly and have been watching his past fights with more attention as this event is being more promoted. He truly is a class operator who is just talented in every aspect of the sport. He is so self-assured and genuinely believes he will beat Canelo not just picking up a pay cheque.

No way do I think he will stop Canelo or even beat him, but I can see him go the distance. I would love for Crawford to pull off a win. That would be truly incredible and would put him up there with the greats of Boxing. It would be a 3-weight undisputed champ which has not been done by anyone before.

As I said, this is all Bud Crawford, and all eyes are on him on how he will handle Saul Alvarez.

If Ginger somehow loses to a blown-up welterweight..... I'll be laughing for at least a month.

More and more sounds as if they are aiming to air this afternoon or early evening to lead into Danas Ufc card that same night. Promotion has given us no clear indicators thus far but if this match truly merits "historic"...we all know the deal...it definitely cannot/should not be a glorified undercard for the same company's other venture. The whole conflict of interest will be ongoing with Dana and Tko me thinks. Good news is they brought back Kellerman to announce for it . I always liked Max. Also some Ufc announcer who likes to shout a lot, but we'll see what he knows about boxing I suppose.

Well... well... well. Here we are a little more than a month away. As expected, the hype is ratcheting up. The Hype Machine is in full swing, with Dana White even (stupidly) calling it "one of the biggest fights ever."

    Right, bud.

By the time fight time comes around, both casuals and Canelo groupies will barely be able to contain their excitement over what The Hype Machine is managing to portray as a genuine challenge to the ginger-haired diva.

Never mind that this is STILL basically a 3-weight division leap by the sacrificial lamb... er... by Crawford.

Never mind that Crawford has had exactly ONE WHOLE FIGHT at 154, and failed to put his opponent away.

Never mind that Ginger has made a career of ducking the true knockout dangers to his record, and feasted on miniature fighters with big names and deluded aspirations.

    Never mind any of that.

The Hype Machine has done, and continues doing, it's job.

I'm definitely feeling that! Canelo vs Crawford? That’s the kind of fight that makes boxing fans lose their minds. Both guys are straight killers in their own weight classes. Canelo’s got the power and experience, but Crawford’s got that slick, next-level skill. If this actually goes down, it’s gonna be fire! Who you got?

Is Crawford a killer or a more boxer who slowly breaks you down?

Is Canelo on the slide after going the distance with his last few opponents?

Default The Canelo v Crawford build up is...

...EXCELLENT. The buzz around this is reaching beyond Mayweather/Pacquiao levels in terms of the marketing and reach and scope of the promotions. I'm seeing the promoters HAVE to be open to using these social media content creators... Never have I seen so much content from YouTube and Facebook about this fight. This is good stuff!!

I'm glad someone is tuned to the fight build-up, because I sure haven't.

"The buzz around this is reaching beyond Mayweather/Pacquiao levels in terms of the marketing and reach and scope of the promotions."

If this is true, it speaks volumes about the nature of boxing and its fans today. It is beyond sad that the buzz around this sham of a fight would approach any mega-fight, much less the build-up to the (disappointing) Floyd-Pac showdown. That build-up had reason to be, even if the fight was expired in terms of the peaks of both fighters. But it was still considered somewhat of an even fight going in, where each had an equal chance. Each was putting his legacy on the line... but sadly the fight itself disappointed.

Canelo-Crawford to me is more like Jake Paul vs Tank... Kareem Abdul Jabbar vs Bruce Lee... or Ali vs Andre the Giant.

The fact there's a buzz basically says that boxing has attracted zillions of casuals, who couldn't tell a real boxing classic if it reared up and smacked them in the face.

Marketing and promoting will make a spectacle of just about anything... and like the old saying goes: "There's sucker born every minute." I'm sure the odds will be ridiculously close by fight time. Then... after the inevitable win by Ginger... the hordes of casuals that looooovvvveeee Ginger will claim they've seen the best fight since Ali-Frazier I. (Well... actually, they won't. Because most of these casuals probably have no earthly idea who Frazier was).

I would predict a KO win by Ginger over the bloated Crawford... but Crawford will likely pull a Charlo, and make it a long, boring decision win for Ginger.
