I would say go down to 160, which Bud himself has mentioned. But his age is certainly a factor that works against him. Also, after having beaten Canelo... maybe retirement isn't such a bad thing.
I'd love to see him in the ring again, though.

What if GGG were to come back to face Crawford at 160lbs? Could that even be wildly possible? lol... Who could coax GGG out of retirement for that?

There is no undisputed middleweight champion for Crawford to challenge.

The most dangerous challenge is the unified champion Janibek Alimkhanuly. I do not think the other champs Carlos Adames or Erislandy Lara hold much attraction for Bud.

Golovkin is long since retired after losing to Canelo and would not be of no interest for Crawford.

The most money would be a rematch against Alvarez.

I’ve spent these days thinking about May 2018, Vasyl Lomachenko passing Crawford on P4P lists after beating Linares. Crawford was a 3 division champion at the time, he had become undisputed at 140 along the way. There was no good reason to put Vasyl above Crawford. Loma great as he was didn’t beat the best guys at 126, 130 OR 135. And he easily could have fought Berchelt at 130, Berchelt was begging for it or Mikey at 135, also begging for it.

Even though Crawford was the more accomplished man at the time it was absolutely impossible to get people to give Crawford his due. “He….” Always something, always.

He beat ass. He was a great fighter. And now and forever all those that refused to give him his due have to STFU when it comes to Crawford and I absolutely love it.And I hope some take a moment to personally reflect about why they always had a reason to tear down this great fighter

As far as Floyd I can think Bud def has the better reputation and overall fan grabbing appeal and would pick him to beat Floyd maybe in a 147 window. But I don't think he tops Floyd's record scalp for scalp overall. I've always liked Bud but the inactivity level drove me crazy and imo think he cut himself short. Certainly zero reason to think he suddenly gets active now off a Canelo W and at 38 years old. But would love to see him dip into 160. A seriously dead division with a Janibek v Adames unification, a very solid fan friendly match up, that feels like it would have already come off in the days of HBO and Showtime. Maybe even twice by now. Talk of Benavidez is just no thanks. Tired of these unnecessary names for the sake of name division conflations and boxing not positioning itself for the coming years. 175 has its own huge fights not being made quick enough and the Bivol v Beterbiev trilogy with "Benavidez gets winner" in la la land. Then again, if Crawford also announces retirement next month it's not at all shocking being honest.
