    You could be onto something.

Canelo a proud man who is the face of boxing and considered a modern day great purposely threw the fight. It makes perfect sense to lose to Crawford who was two weights lower and a huge underdog.

On Mexico independence day, Canelo thought he would embarrass himself and lose to make even more money in a rematch.

    Sounds like a bad loser.

This post is hillarious. Crawford did to Canelo what he did to Spence, but in a less dramatic fashion. If they fought at 147 or even 154, Crawford may have stopped Canelo.
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

Not much more to add. I think you said it perfectly.

Someone very likely slipped Canelo a Tofu steak. Had to be. He was clearly showing hesitation, missing punches, delayed reflexes and was one step behind. Almost as if being outboxed and out skilled by a better fighter happened. I say he brings his personal chef with him from now on.

There was always going to be someone call FIX when Canelo lost. Too many people listen to what everyone says rather than see for themselves with their own eyes.
“Canelo is too big” bullshit ! Canelo is 5’ 8” , Crawford is 5’9”. Canelo has a 70” reach, Crawford 75” reach.
And before anybody says “yeah but Canelo has the bigger frame “ again not really true. Crawford walks the streets at 180lbs and is freakishly strong with the weights he pushes. How he boils down to the weight he does is a miracle.
Notice how Canelo never pushed Crawford around in the clinches.
My only doubt in all of this was that Crawford was 37, but in this day and age, with modern strength and conditioning techniques that’s nothing.
And in “Boxing years” you could conceivably say Canelo was older.
All of this was there for everyone to see, and while it could have gone differently, it was always on the cards.

All I know is Crawford fought his entire career at welter or below, save for the one fight last year against Madrimov at 154.
Canelo fought at 175 twice, and tried at least twice to fight for a bogus cruiserweight belt at 180.
I also know that Crawford is almost three years older than Canelo.

All of this adds up to a distinct advantage for Canelo.

Kudos to Crawford for making his superiority so clear that not even Canelo's judges were able to rob him.
