And I believe Pac really looked like the bigger man for the first time in three contest and may have really given him that additional Pop to hurt Erik early and often.
I agree and disagree. I definitely enjoyed watching it, but I also really dislike Erik Morales. It was only dramatic in that it was fairly shocking to see Morales get finished that quickly. As far as competitive drama, it was all in the build up. The fight itself was entirely one-sided. It was clear from about a minute and a half in that Pacquiao was going to completely dominate the fight--he was staggering Morales in round 1, and didn't seem remotely bothered by anything that was coming back. He was also about three times faster than Morales. Those weren't things that were going to change, even if the fight had gone longer than three rounds. I mean--you pretty much knew what was going to happen from the opening seconds.
You mean the punches that landed on Pac flush prior to the 3rd knockdown werent dramatic to you?
Morales landed some shots on Pac and had him against the ropes a few times... Those moments were tense regardless who you were rooting for...
I agree with Violent Bob on this one. Yes, Morales landed a couple shots flush (about 1 for every 4 Manny landed), but Manny didn't ever look hurt by them. Morales, on the other hand, was visibly getting hurt from about a minute in. Put it this way--the punches Manny was landing, and the way Morales was responding, made it look like Manny was definitely KTFO EM before 5 or 6 rounds were up. The punches Morales landed, and the way Manny responded, didn't provoke any such thoughts.
