In addition he has a victory, (admittedly controversial but still) over James Toney whom most would rate as top 5.

Who else in recent times has done as much as that? All of the other paper champs are bums, Peter would be a heavy betting favourite to win all of those fights.

You may disagree but the rest of the world is with me on this one I think Lyle

By the way your list is just plain idiotic. You say Peter has done nothing to be considered as the second best heavy and then replace him with Larry Donald,
Now Bilbo, I did not REPLACE Sam Peter with Larry Donald....I just said Larry would beat Sam, that is it. Donald takes punches well, he has a good jab, and he moves well....Sam would look like shit vs him.

I also believe other title holders should be ranked higher than Sam....they do have titles.

I don't rate James Toney in the top 5....he beat Holyfield, Booker, Guinn, drew with Rahman and had a No Contest vs Ruiz....why would he be in the top 5?

I'm sorry Sam Peter fans, I gave the guy a chance he hasn't improved, and I don't think he's EVER going to be the dominant force in the division
Lyle, what makes you think Nikolay Valuev is the #2 HW? He didn't even win the fight that got him his alphabet strap, and everyone else he's fought has been a tomato can. And it's not like he just hasn't had an opportunity to use his abilities--he doesn't have any boxing ability. And again: he lost to John Ruiz.
