Calzaghe was calling out Jones Jr at every opportunity, Hopkins at every opportunity, Tarver at every opportunity.. none of them had the guts to get in the ring with Joe and you can't blame them (Calzaghe was largely seen as a joke and a bum!). They always chickened out, Jones Jr and Hopkins both agreed to fights only to price themselves out (Jones Jr on many occasions).

Calzaghe said in 1995 that he'd "knock Roy Jones clean out". He always wanted the big fights, and why wouldn't he??
in 1995 calzaghe wernt even a world champ plus he wasnt really known to america in 1995 and he still isnt now plus in 1995 he only won BBBofC British Super Middleweight Title  so big american champs wouldnt be interested in fighting someone like that at that time
